WordPress + WooCommerce Developer — Launch Storefront for API-Imported Digital Products

Summary

We're launching an online store selling digital prepaid service plans — virtual products, delivered electronically after purchase, with no physical shipping. We do not have a website yet, so this is a build from zero. Our supplier provides a WordPress plugin that imports the product catalog via their API and handles order fulfilment and delivery emails. Payment will run through a standard WooCommerce payment gateway. Your job is to stand the site up, configure it properly, and — most importantly — make the product browsing and purchase experience genuinely good, because the supplier's out-of-the-box presentation is basic. Scope of work: Install and configure WordPress + WooCommerce on our hosting Install and configure the supplier's catalog-import plugin (we'll provide it and its documentation) Select and set up a suitable theme, using a child theme for all customization Customize the product page UX — products come in multiple options (e.g. size and duration); we need customers to select one option and then choose a quantity, plus the ability to group/filter options by type Improve product search — WooCommerce's default search is not good enough for our catalog Integrate a payment gateway, customer accounts, and transactional emails Basic responsive/mobile polish and essential SEO hygiene Handover: documentation and a short walkthrough Important technical context: The supplier plugin re-syncs the catalog periodically and overwrites product data. Any customization must survive re-syncs and plugin updates — no editing plugin or theme core files. We're open to either custom development or an off-the-shelf plugin for the product-page UX. If a ready-made solution does the job well, we'd prefer it — tell us which and why. We are technically informed: we've reviewed the supplier plugin's behaviour in detail and have a UI mock of the target product page, which we'll share with shortlisted candidates. What we provide Hosting, domain, the supplier plugin and credentials, the UI mock, brand assets, and fast decision-making on our side. Required skills: Deep, demonstrable WooCommerce experience (not just general WordPress) Strong grasp of WooCommerce product types and when to use each Comfortable with PHP, hooks/filters, child themes, and template overrides Experience integrating third-party/API-driven plugins Payment gateway setup; clean, responsive front-end work Your proposal must include (proposals without these will not be reviewed): Your recommended approach — custom build vs. off-the-shelf plugin, and the reasoning A realistic timeline with milestones (in days/weeks) — we value realistic over optimistic, but short timelines with a credible plan will win What you need from us to start and to avoid delays Pricing — fixed price preferred, with milestones 2–3 links to live WooCommerce sites you've built, ideally with customized product pages
