Senior Shopify / WooCommerce Developer Needed (UI/UX, Performance, Integrations & Troubleshooting) We're looking for an experienced **Shopify and WooCommerce developer** to take ownership of an existing ecommerce website and resolve a number of post-launch issues. This is **not** a website build from scratch. The site is already live, but we need someone who can quickly diagnose problems, improve performance, polish the user experience, and ensure everything functions correctly. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with: * WooCommerce and Shopify * WordPress development * PHP, JavaScript, CSS, HTML * WooCommerce plugins and customizations * Performance optimization (Core Web Vitals) * Mobile responsive design * Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Google Merchant Center, Klaviyo * Payment gateways * Inventory integrations and API troubleshooting This could become an ongoing relationship if we're happy with the work. Current Issues to Resolve Performance & Stability * Improve overall website speed, especially on mobile. * Diagnose homepage loading issues and intermittent site availability. * Fix caching so updates are immediately visible without requiring customers to hard refresh. * Optimize image loading throughout the site. Homepage & UI Improvements * Adjust hero banner image scaling so products are not cropped across different screen sizes. * Remove unnecessary text from hero sections and improve spacing. * Improve button placement and layout. * Restore horizontal product carousels instead of long vertical product lists. * Standardize product image sizing and reduce excessive white space. * Update homepage labels and badges for consistency. Collections & Navigation * Fix incorrect products appearing in collections. * Resolve category/tag filtering issues. * Restore proper "Load More" behavior. * Improve mobile navigation. * Consolidate long filter sections into expandable dropdowns. * Add important footer links to the mobile menu. Product Pages * Fix image scaling and responsive behavior. * Improve mobile layout. * Enable appropriate image zoom functionality. * Correct variation pricing display. * Fix variation image behavior. * Ensure products display in the proper collections. * Update color swatches where needed. Checkout Experience * Simplify checkout layout. * Improve payment button placement. * Ensure Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal display correctly. * Shipping address should appear before billing address. * Billing fields should remain collapsed until needed. * Improve upsell presentation. * Rename checkout messaging. * Remove unnecessary checkout text. Wholesale Account Experience * Review the entire wholesale customer journey. * Remove consumer-only promotions from wholesale accounts. * Remove returns/exchanges for wholesale customers. * Hide retail shipping options where appropriate. * Remove retail upsells for wholesale users. * Correct wholesale pricing display. * Prevent retail pricing from appearing throughout blogs and other pages. * Improve wholesale navigation. Inventory & Product Sync * Investigate inventory inconsistencies. * Resolve incorrect backorder settings. * Verify synchronization with our AS400 inventory system. * Ensure product IDs remain consistent. * Confirm frontend inventory accurately reflects backend inventory. Analytics & Tracking * Fix WooCommerce Analytics reporting. * Resolve incorrect sales spikes. * Fix negative product totals. * Ensure reports accurately reflect refunds and cancellations. * Fix Meta Pixel integration. * Fix Google for WooCommerce. * Ensure Google Merchant Center functions correctly. * Resolve Klaviyo event tracking (Add to Cart, Started Checkout). Customer Accounts * Fix login and password reset issues. * Remove unnecessary CAPTCHA from login. * Improve account usability. Returns & Refunds * Restore automatic refunds to original payment methods. * Allow shipping refunds where applicable. * Review and correct the returns and exchanges workflow. * Ensure return shipping and exchange fees calculate properly. Payment Integrations * Verify PayPal live integration. * Review Stripe integration. * Ensure all payment methods function properly across desktop and mobile. Shipping & Order Management * Verify ShipStation integration. * Test order imports. * Review order numbering. * Enable invoice downloads if possible. General Website Fixes * Fix broken links. * Repair About Us page video. * Fix FAQ page layout. * Correct repeated menu items. * Improve email templates. * Remove unnecessary admin/testing information. * Review plugin conflicts. * Test the entire site across desktop, tablet, and multiple mobile devices. What We're Looking For You should: * Have **5+ years** of Shopify and/or WooCommerce development experience. * Be comfortable debugging someone else's work. * Be proactive and able to identify root causes rather than applying temporary fixes. * Communicate clearly and provide progress updates. * Thoroughly test all changes before deployment. * Be available for ongoing maintenance if the relationship is a good fit.
