Summary

We're a small Australian business (Quick Evolve, based in Melbourne) using Xero for our day-to-day accounts. We have an external accounting firm that handles tax returns, BAS, and compliance — we're looking for a reliable bookkeeper to manage the routine, week-to-week tasks that keep our books accurate and our invoices paid on time. What You'll Be Doing Bank reconciliation — matching transactions in Xero to bank feeds, coding to the correct accounts Accounts receivable follow-up — chasing overdue client invoices via email, keeping the AR aging report clean Weekly contractor payroll entry — our 2 contractors send their weekly hours; you'll enter these into Xero for our approval (we approve before any payment is made — no banking access required) Flagging any unusual or unclear transactions for our review rather than guessing What We're Looking For Solid hands-on experience with Xero At least 1 year of experience bookkeeping for Australian businesses, with working knowledge of GST/BAS basics — what's GST-applicable, what's not, and how to code routine business expenses correctly Strong written English for invoice follow-up emails with clients Reliable, detail-oriented, comfortable flagging anything unusual or unclear for our review rather than guessing How We'll Work Together We'll provide a simple chart-of-accounts reference guide so coding is consistent Weekly check-in / async updates via [Slack, email, etc.] We'd like to start with a small paid trial task to make sure it's a good fit before committing to an ongoing arrangement To Apply Please include: Your experience with Xero and Australian bookkeeping (specific examples welcome) Your availability/timezone overlap with AEST business hours
