YouTube Horror Explainer Scriptwriter

We’re looking for an experienced YouTube scriptwriter with a strong passion for **analog horror, internet horror, fictional creatures, cryptids, and dark storytelling** to join our team long-term. Our videos explore and explain disturbing creatures, mysterious entities, hidden lore, and fictional universes connected to creators and communities such as **Doctor Nowhere, Trevor Henderson, SCP, the Backrooms, analog horror series, and other internet horror projects**. Reference channel: https://www.youtube.com/@Ficknime https://www.youtube.com/@Fickyep Typical topics may include: * Every Doctor Nowhere Creature Explained * Trevor Henderson’s Most Disturbing Monsters * The Largest Creatures in Analog Horror * Internet Horror Entities You Should Never Encounter * The Darkest SCP Dimensions Explained * Backrooms Giants and Their Hidden Lore ### What You’ll Do * Research and write scripts based on topics provided by our team * Complete approximately **2 scripts per week** * Write scripts of around **1500–2,500 words** * Explain complicated lore in a clear, entertaining, and easy-to-follow way * Create strong openings that immediately build curiosity and tension * Maintain an eerie, atmospheric tone without sacrificing clarity * Organize creatures, events, or concepts into engaging sections * Separate confirmed canon from theories, speculation, and fan interpretations * Provide a complete source list with every script ### Requirements * Strong English writing, grammar, and storytelling skills * Genuine interest in horror, analog horror, cryptids, and fictional lore * Experience writing long-form YouTube explainer or documentary scripts * Ability to make research-heavy subjects entertaining * Strong attention to factual and lore accuracy * Ability to build suspense without using excessive filler or repetitive language * Familiarity with creators and universes such as Doctor Nowhere, Trevor Henderson, SCP, the Backrooms, Vita Carnis, Monument Mythos, Gemini Home Entertainment, and similar projects * Ability to meet deadlines and communicate consistently Experience writing list-based videos such as **“Every Creature Explained,” “The Most Disturbing Entities Ranked,”** or **“The Complete Lore Explained”** is strongly preferred. ### To Apply Please include: * Relevant writing samples, preferably YouTube horror or explainer scripts * A brief introduction about your writing experience * The horror creators, series, or fictional universes you are familiar with * Your rate per 1500–2,500-word script * Your typical turnaround time * Your weekly availability Start your application with the word **“Dread”** so we know you read the entire job post.
