YouTube & Podcast Content Researcher (Pop Culture, Influencers & Internet Trends)
Worldwide
I'm looking for a detail-oriented researcher to assist with a commentary-style YouTube channel and podcast focused on pop culture, influencer news, reality TV, celebrity discussions, internet culture, social media trends, and online controversies. The ideal candidate enjoys keeping up with what's happening online and knows how to gather information from reputable sources, social media platforms, interviews, podcasts, news articles, and public discussions. This role is for research only. I am not looking for a scriptwriter at this stage, as I prefer to create my own commentary and content in my own voice. Responsibilities: * Research assigned topics and trending stories. * Gather factual information from reliable sources. * Compile timelines of events. * Identify key discussion points and public reactions. * Find relevant quotes, interviews, articles, podcasts, and social media posts. * Present information in a clear, organised format. * Include source links for fact-checking and verification. Deliverable Format: For each topic, please provide: 1. Executive Summary: * 5–10 dot points summarising the story. * Why people are talking about it. * The main controversy, discussion, or news angle. 2. Timeline of Events * Key events in chronological order. * Include dates where relevant. 3. Key Facts * Important factual information. * Clearly separate facts from opinions or speculation. * Include source links. 4. Public Reactions * Summary of common opinions and discussions from platforms such as TikTok, Reddit, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, X, forums, podcasts, and news comments. * Include differing viewpoints where applicable. 5. Notable Quotes * Relevant quotes from interviews, podcasts, articles, social media posts, or public statements. * Include links to original sources. 6. Potential Discussion Angles * 3–5 interesting perspectives, questions, or discussion points that could be explored in a commentary-style video or podcast. 7. Source List * A complete list of all sources and links used. Example Topics Topics may include: * Influencer controversies * Reality TV drama * Celebrity news * Viral TikTok discussions * Parenting debates * Social media trends * Online business discussions * Internet culture topics * Public figures and creator-related news Important: The goal is not to tell me what opinion to have. I want to be provided with balanced, well-organised research so I can form my own opinions and create content in my own voice. To help me find the right fit, please complete the screening questions and provide any relevant examples of your work. I am looking to start with a small paid trial project, with the potential for ongoing work if we're a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you.
