technical consultant for AI companion robot

I'm building a screen-free, emotionally intelligent storytelling robot designed for children. the robot combines AI, expressive facial animation, high-quality audio, and thoughtful industrial design to create an engaging companion that encourages imagination, creativity, and emotional development. I'm now looking for an experienced robotics/product development engineer who can guide the hardware development from prototype to a manufacturable prototype This is not a simple CAD modeling job. I'm looking for a long-term technical consultant who can help make important engineering decisions throughout the project. Responsibilities You will help with areas such as: - Designing the robot's internal mechanical architecture. - Developing efficient layouts for all internal components. - Designing and reviewing the shell for strength, assembly, and manufacturability. - Facial rigging and expressive mechanisms. - Selection of motors, servos, sensors, speakers, microphones, batteries, PCBs, and other components. - Design for 3D printing and rapid prototyping. - Design for manufacturing (DFM). - Assembly planning and maintenance considerations. - Reviewing existing CAD models and suggesting improvements. - Identifying engineering risks before they become costly. - Advising on materials and manufacturing methods. - Helping transition from MVP to production-ready hardware. Ideal Candidate I'm looking for someone who has experience with products such as: - Consumer robots - Animatronics - Interactive products - Consumer electronics - Robotics prototypes - Mechatronics - Product engineering Experience with CAD tools such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar is highly desirable. Knowledge of manufacturing processes including injection molding is a strong advantage.
