Over the years I've been fortunate enough to have worked with some very talented, charming and wonderful people. Despite this, they have gone on to make a success of their careers. This is the story of mine: A copywriter by trade, I began as an offline writer in a traditional creative team when Ceefax was as interactive as things got. I got rather comfy at The Leisure Process and stayed there 7 years, working on through-the-line comms for 'youth-oriented' brands like Coke, Levi's, Virgin and Sony. Having the wherewithal to scan my work and stick it up on the web apparently made me an online copywriter, so WCRS snapped me up to work alongside Steve Vranakis to help kickstart their digital offering. Steve taught me an awful lot about marketing on the web, WCRS taught me an awful lot about the power of brands and Leon Jaume taught me an awful lot about charming the ladies. So much so that I wooed my wife there. 2 years later, I moved on to Agency.com as CD on the BT business, growing it into the global network's biggest account. Again, 2 years later I left to join Archibald Ingall Stretton and teamed up with Dan Harrison to launch their digital offering. Very soon after, digital became their dominant medium as print budgets began to slide. Then Dan and I headed for Dare and stayed a good long while. We did loads of great stuff there so DLKW Lowe came after us and made us part of their big new creative renaissance. But before we joined, there was just enough time to nip off to Ethiopia to help launch a girl band for the Nike Foundation. Yes, really. Along the way, I've written for several blogs and publications, founded the D&AD Digital Workshops, won awards, judged awards and spoken at things when invited.
