Hello,
I’d like to welcome you to my profile and to thank you for your time.
I’m a passionate Software Tester working in the field since 2009 and as a freelancer since 2013, specialized on Black Box Testing.
My first taste of QA came as a Game Tester, when I was hired by Electronic Arts as what I thought would be a summer job. In my time there, which by the end was over 4 years, I learned and became quite passionate about the field, applying my newly learned skills at first as a Black Box Tester and then as a QA Test Lead, which switched my focus from bug reports, regression testing, functional and non-functional testing as well a different types of reports to coordinating teams, peer-mentoring, task assignments, risk analysis, test script writing and assigning, writing daily team reports and various other ad-hoc requirements as they came up.
Sometime in 2013 I felt the need to move on and looking for a greater challenge (let’s be honest – and comfort) I discovered the world of remote work, Freelancing and Upwork. Since then I have had some wonderful working relationships here, learning and growing as much as I could, finding myself unintentionally specialized on Enterprise web application testing. As can be seen from my work history here, I have preferred long-term work but I don't shy away from short "hit the ground running" projects either.
I have always been described as a positive, open-minded and friendly person, having never had an issue fitting in a new team or work dynamic. I’m self-driven and results oriented, logically minded as well as quite technical. I’ve yet to meet the software that I can’t understand or break. This part – the breaking –is indeed what made me love this job. I consider that in the end, no matter how you do it or why, finding bugs is why you’re being paid to do the job – and I've loved it since my first bug report. The more important the issue, the better the feeling of accomplishment upon seeing it fixed. I also know and appreciate the importance of a well thought out risk analysis, a good test plan, test suite, test report and a well-documented bug report. I can create all of them, so both management and development can rely on me. I'm also good in exploratory testing, so if there is no or little documentation I'll test and learn the software by using it and annoying people with lots of questions.
During my time I have worked with and am an advanced user with a lot of different management apps and testing tools, from using Excel or Word for Test Cases or bug reports to TestRail, Jira, Confluence, DevTest/DevTrack, etc. Whilst being technically minded has allowed me to be of help in other areas such as systems set up, dev-ops, AWS management, along with a bit of knowledge (that I plan on improving in the near future) on a couple of programming languages (Java and C#) to a beginner level, as well as a bit of work with Selenium Webdriver, and although I wouldn’t hire myself as an Automation Tester just yet, such knowledge has always proved helpful as I could do Code Reviews and smoke checks on automation work.
Since my beginning in this career I was always heavily involved in multinational teams, and through this and my education I have a firm (some would say almost native) grasp of the English language, and I also know a little bit of German if that helps. As working from home, I have no issue with changing my schedule according to the employer’s needs.
I hope you liked reading through my somewhat wordy description and look forward to hearing from you.
