My background is in ecological research: using advanced numerical methods to address ecological problems. I received my PhD in 1998, and have worked as a biostatistician and ecologist at a range of universities and government institutes in Australia and California. As a statistician, I have consulted widely for students, academics, and State and Federal research scientists and agencies. I have taught sampling and experimental design and statistical analysis courses in several countries using SAS, R, Statistica, Systat, and SPSS. I have over 50 peer-reviewed publications and am an experienced reviewer for a range of journals. As a researcher, I will provide you with not only the end product, but also the reasoning behind the analytical decisions, and potential alternative approaches. Where necessary, I will write a formal description of results suitable for a report or journal publication. I am experienced in analyzing data from many different disciplines, so can work with anything from business data, through to questionnaires, to conventional sampling data. I have a wide range of experience in analytical approaches including: - Advanced sampling and experimental design; - Generalized (including Generalized Additive Models) linear modeling; - Generalized Linear Mixed-Effects Modeling; - Multivariate ordination (unconstrained and constrained) and clustering; - Spatial autocorrelation, Semivariance, and Geostatistical analyses; - Classification and Regression trees (including bagging, boosting and random forest approaches); - Non-linear and segmented regression; - Overdispersed, zero-inflated and hurdle models; - General randomization approaches I primarily work in R and Python however I have also taught SAS, Statistica, Systat, and SPSS.
