Ever since I could hold a pen, I've been drawing and expressing my imagination. I have worked as a Freelance artist and Illustrator for the past 8 years. During this time I have worked with a number of clients to create artwork ranging from comic strips, book cover illustrations, stand alone commissioned artwork and murals. I specialise in story telling and capturing narratives within my artwork but can also create other types of artwork/illustrations such as portraits, landscapes, fun illustrative characters or instructional illustrations. My work also extends into character design and NFT artwork. This year, I worked on a character design NFT project for one of my clients. During this job, my position was as the Art Director and lead artist. As well as generating the majority of the artwork, it was also my responsibility to manage one other supporting artist as well as steering the overall design direction and ensuring the final output was cohesive with the brand of the project. This project required me to create a set of 200+ traits (skins. Hair, hats, clothes, accessories and backgrounds) which would be composited together to make 6000 unique characters. The project was highly successful and the client was extremely happy with the results. During my time as a freelancer, I have worked closely with several authors on the creation of successful children's books. In one of my current children's book projects, leading the illustration and graphic design of a series of books which educate children on the variety of different wildlife, eco-systems and cultures of the planet. I’m doing this by creating fun, engaging layouts that embed the text within the flow of the story, guiding the reader on a journey through the pages. As well as this, educational information has been communicated in a playful manner through elements such as illustrated infographic maps and fun facts about animals or cultures. Additionally, I enjoy working with companies to create artwork that reflects thier brand values, story and vision. For example, in 2020 with a product design consultancy to break down their creative process, I was then tasked to illustrate this process as a journey in which the idea becomes a finished product. This piece also illustrated the interplay between the client and the designer throughout the creation process of a product. I like to work closely with my clients to capture their ideas. I can work in both traditional mediums (paint, ink, drawing) and digital mediums (procreate, photoshop, Illustrator). I also have a personal business where I sell prints of my original artwork world wide. As well as creating artwork, I also find deep satisfaction in writing both thought-provoking passages and short stories to compliment my original artwork. I have been animating, making cartoons and designing for over 3 years now. My hobby is drawing which i have been doing all my life and i have combined this with my computer skills which has become my career. I am also currently studying part time for my masters in Animation. I make cartoons, Explainer videos and whiteboard animation. I work mainly on Toonboom Haromoy for rigged/puppet animation animation with a combination of traditional hand drawn animation. I design characters on Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and edit the finals cut of the video on Adobe photoshop.
