Community Outreach & Market Development Specialist (Thailand)

We are looking for an on-the-ground Community Outreach & Market Development Specialist based in Bangkok or Chiang Mai who understands how to build trust within local parent communities and generate student enrollments for our online English tutoring program (this is a unique program in the description below). We primarily work with Chinese and Thai parents, typically from international schools, but usually more Chinese. This is not a digital marketing role. We are looking for someone who understands how parents make educational decisions and who can help us access trusted networks where families already gather, communicate, and share recommendations. Target Communities You may focus on one or more of the following groups: Chinese families living in Thailand Thai families seeking stronger English skills for their children Burmese families living in Thailand Newly arrived expatriate families whose children need English support Experience working with Chinese-speaking communities is highly preferred. Mandarin Chinese fluency is strongly preferred if you plan to work within Chinese parent networks. Responsibilities: Develop strategies to reach parent communities in Bangkok and/or Chiang Mai Identify trusted channels where parents gather online and offline Build relationships with community leaders, parent groups, schools, clubs, and family networks Recommend and implement outreach campaigns Generate sign-ups for free English tutoring trials Track lead sources and conversion rates Advise us on local market expectations and parent concerns Help refine our messaging for different communities Ideal Candidate: We are especially interested in candidates who have experience with: Community development Educational sales Parent outreach International school communities Chinese community engagement Local business development Family services marketing Student recruitment You should be able to explain not only what outreach activities you would perform, but why they would work within the communities you know. English Program Description: English Planet is an affordable (350 THB per hour) English-speaking program founded by a Harvard-trained educator. We help students aged 5–15 build confidence in spoken English through interactive adventures, storytelling, and one-on-one speaking practice with experienced tutors. Our students are often from middle-class and upper-middle-class families whose children attend international, bilingual, or private schools but still struggle with English speaking confidence. Many are new arrivals to Chiang Mai or Bangkok and are looking for additional support outside of school. We offer 3 free trial lessons (3 hours total) that allow families to experience the program before deciding whether to continue with paid tutoring. Our students typically enroll afterwards and many go on to continue the program for over a year.
