Mechanical Design Engineer – PTC Creo (Pro/E) – Inkjet Printer Service Station About the Project Addmaster Corporation is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer proficient in PTC Creo (formerly Pro/ENGINEER) to assist with the development of a next-generation thermal inkjet printer mechanism. We are designing a new service station for a thermal inkjet print engine and are looking for an engineer who can transform engineering concepts into robust, manufacturable mechanical designs. This is a 2–3 month contract with the possibility of additional work as the project progresses. What You'll Do Working closely with our engineering team, you will: Design a precision service station for an HP thermal inkjet printer. Develop complete 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings using PTC Creo. Refine engineering concepts into production-ready mechanical designs. Participate in design reviews and contribute practical design improvements. Design components suitable for machining, sheet metal fabrication, plastic injection molding, and 3D printing. Build and evaluate prototype components using our in-house 3D printers. Assist with prototype assembly and testing. Recommend and source commercially available components such as bearings, springs, fasteners, sensors, motors, gears, and linear motion components. Work with our engineering team to improve reliability, manufacturability, cost, and ease of assembly. Required Qualifications Expert proficiency using PTC Creo / Pro-E. Strong mechanical design experience. Experience creating production-ready mechanical assemblies. Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM). Experience designing precision mechanisms. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a small engineering team. Preferred Qualifications Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable: Inkjet printing systems Printer mechanisms Service stations Printhead maintenance systems Work Location This position is not intended to be fully remote. While some design work may be completed remotely, the successful candidate should be able to work on-site at our engineering facility in Monrovia, California, as needed. Hands-on collaboration is an important part of this project. You will have access to: Working printer mechanisms Prototype hardware In-house 3D printers Engineering test equipment Our mechanical and electrical engineering teams Being able to inspect prototypes, participate in design reviews, and iterate designs quickly with the team is a significant advantage. Candidates located in Southern California, or those willing to travel to Monrovia on a regular basis, are strongly preferred.
