Restore Offline WordPress Website

I am looking for an experienced WordPress developer to restore an offline WordPress website, update it, and load it back online. DESCRIPTION The website was previously built in Hostinger - WordPress, but it is currently offline and needs to be restored and made live again. I need someone who can review the current status of the website, determine what is needed to bring it back online, and safely complete the restoration without causing further issues. The work may include reviewing hosting, domain, DNS, SSL, WordPress files, database, and backups; restoring the website; updating WordPress, plugins, and themes; fixing technical issues; and making sure the site works properly on desktop and mobile once it is back online. SCOPE OF WORK The freelancer will investigate why the WordPress website is offline, restore it if possible, update it, and make sure it is functioning properly once live. Project Includes: • Review the current status of the offline WordPress website • Check hosting, domain, DNS, SSL, WordPress files, database, and backups • Identify what is needed to restore the website and bring it back online • Create or confirm a backup before making changes • Restore the WordPress website using available files, database, or backups • Reconnect domain and SSL if needed • Update WordPress core, plugins, and theme where appropriate • Check for broken links, images, forms, and pages • Fix layout, display, or technical issues if needed • Test key pages and contact forms • Make sure the website is secure and functioning properly once live SKILLS Please apply only if you have experience with: • Restoring offline WordPress websites • WordPress backups and migrations • WordPress troubleshooting • Hosting and cPanel • Hostinger - WordPress files and databases • DNS and domain troubleshooting • SSL setup • Plugin and theme updates • WordPress security DELIVERABLES By the end of the project, I would like: • Website restored and live online • Domain and SSL working properly • WordPress, plugins, and theme updated where appropriate • Website checked for errors • Technical issues fixed TIMELINE 2 weeks or less, depending on the condition of the website, hosting access, domain access, and available backups. MILESTONES Milestone 1: Website Investigation and Recovery Plan The freelancer will review the current website status, hosting, domain, DNS, SSL, WordPress files, database, and backups to determine why the website is offline and what is needed to restore it. Milestone 2: Website Restoration and Hosting Setup The freelancer will restore the WordPress website using available files, database, or backups. The freelancer will also address hosting-related issues needed to bring the website back online. Milestone 3: Domain, SSL, WordPress Updates, and Technical Fixes The freelancer will reconnect the domain if needed, configure SSL if needed, safely update WordPress core, plugins, and theme where appropriate, and fix technical issues preventing the website from working properly. Milestone 4: Final Testing and Handover Summary The freelancer will complete final testing on desktop and mobile, check key pages and contact forms, and provide a summary of the work completed. REQUIREMENTS FOR COLLABORATION To ensure the project runs smoothly and efficiently, the ideal candidate will have: (1) Clear Communication Must provide clear updates at agreed project stages. Must be available for Zoom or Google Meet calls if needed for kickoff, clarification, troubleshooting, review, or final handoff. Camera must be on. (2) Independent Work Style Must be able to work independently, ask clear questions when needed, and stay organized throughout the project. (3) Approval Before Major Changes Must receive approval before deleting files, replacing backups, changing DNS, changing hosting settings, modifying databases, removing plugins, changing themes, or making structural changes. (4) Professional Judgment Must flag risks, concerns, missing backups, hosting issues, domain issues, database issues, corrupted files, security concerns, or unexpected problems before proceeding with work that may affect the website. (5) Confidentiality Must keep all login details, website information, hosting information, domain information, business information, and project materials confidential.
