SharePoint Online Intranet Designer with UI/UX Experience

We are seeking an experienced SharePoint Online Designer to help design, build, and enhance a modern corporate intranet. This role requires someone who can combine strong SharePoint knowledge with UI/UX, visual design, information architecture, and stakeholder collaboration. This is not solely a graphic design assignment. The selected freelancer should understand how to translate business and communication needs into practical, user-friendly SharePoint Online experiences. Responsibilities Collaborate with business units, end users, and technology teams to understand requirements. Design, build, and enhance SharePoint Online intranet pages, departmental sites, and collaboration portals. Develop clear page layouts, navigation structures, templates, and content hierarchies. Apply corporate branding, style guidelines, and visual design standards. Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, or design concepts before implementation when appropriate. Participate in design reviews and recommend practical solutions based on SharePoint and UX best practices. Improve usability, accessibility, responsiveness, and consistency across SharePoint sites. Evaluate available SharePoint features, web parts, templates, and Microsoft 365 capabilities. Support enterprise search, collaboration, and content-discovery improvements. Help create reusable standards, guidance, or training materials to support adoption. Provide ongoing support and make revisions based on stakeholder feedback. Required Experience Demonstrated experience with SharePoint Online. Experience designing corporate intranets or enterprise SharePoint sites. Strong web design and UI/UX capabilities. Understanding of information architecture, navigation, page hierarchy, and usability. Experience working with branding standards and style guidelines. Ability to create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and visual design concepts. Strong understanding of layout, typography, composition, color, and responsive design. Ability to communicate design recommendations clearly to technical and nontechnical stakeholders. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively. Preferred Experience Microsoft 365 integration experience. SharePoint search, metadata, content types, permissions, or governance experience. Accessibility and responsive-design experience. Familiarity with Power Platform, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or SharePoint Framework. Experience supporting SharePoint adoption or end-user training. Initial Deliverables The initial engagement may include: Review of the current SharePoint intranet and existing design standards. Stakeholder and requirements discussions. Recommendations for site structure, navigation, and user experience. Wireframes or design concepts for key pages. Development or enhancement of SharePoint pages and templates. Documentation of reusable design standards and recommendations. Revisions based on stakeholder feedback. The exact scope and priorities will be finalized with the selected freelancer.
