WordPress Website Update

I am looking for an experienced WordPress developer to update an existing WordPress website. DESCRIPTION The website is currently live, but it needs to be reviewed, updated, and checked to make sure everything is working properly. I need someone who can safely update the site without causing issues. The work may include updating WordPress, plugins, and themes; checking the design and layout; fixing any broken links, forms, images, or pages; and making sure the site works properly on desktop and mobile. SCOPE OF WORK The freelancer will update an existing live WordPress website and make sure it continues working properly after the updates. Project Includes: • Review the current WordPress website • Create or confirm a backup before making changes • Update WordPress core, plugins, and theme • Check for broken links, images, forms, and pages • Fix layout or display issues if needed • Test key pages and contact forms • Make sure the website is secure and functioning properly SKILLS Please apply only if you have experience with: • WordPress website updates • Plugin and theme updates • WordPress troubleshooting • Website backups • WordPress security DELIVERABLES By the end of the project, I would like: • WordPress, plugins, and theme updated • Website checked for errors • Technical issues fixed TIMELINE 2 weeks or less MILESTONES Milestone 1: Website Review, Backup, and Update Plan The freelancer will review the current WordPress website, confirm or create a backup, check the WordPress version, theme, plugins, and identify any potential risks before starting updates. Milestone 2: WordPress, Theme, and Plugin Updates The freelancer will safely update WordPress core, plugins, and theme where appropriate. Any update-related issues should be identified and fixed. Milestone 3: Website Fixes and Functionality Checks The freelancer will check and fix obvious issues such as broken links, missing images, layout problems, contact form errors, mobile display issues, or plugin conflicts. Milestone 4: Final Testing and Handover Summary The freelancer will complete final testing on desktop and mobile and provide a summary of the work completed. REQUIREMENTS FOR COLLABORATION To ensure the project runs smoothly and efficiently, the ideal candidate will have: (1) Clear Communication Must provide clear updates at agreed project stages. Must be available for Zoom or Google Meet calls if needed for kickoff, clarification, review, or final handoff. Camera must be on. (2) Independent Work Style Must be able to work independently, ask clear questions when needed, and stay organized throughout the project. (3) Approval Before Major Changes Must receive approval before making major design, content, plugin, theme, hosting, or structural changes. (4) Professional Judgment Must flag risks, concerns, or unexpected issues before proceeding with work that may affect the website. (5) Confidentiality Must keep all login details, website information, business information, and project materials confidential.
