Director of Construction Technology (AI & Digital Transformation Consultant) About Dempsey Construction Dempsey Construction is a growing commercial general contractor headquartered in Carlsbad, California. We are seeking an experienced technology consultant to help lead our Artificial Intelligence, automation, and digital transformation initiatives as we continue to grow. This is an independent contractor (1099) consulting engagement with the potential for an ongoing long-term relationship. What You'll Be Doing You'll partner directly with our Executive Leadership Team to: Develop our AI and Construction Technology roadmap Design AI-driven workflows and business automations Improve operational efficiency across departments Evaluate and implement new technology solutions Optimize Microsoft 365, Monday.com, Procore, Acumatica, and other platforms Build dashboards and reporting tools Integrate business systems Train employees on AI tools and best practices Identify opportunities to reduce manual work and improve productivity Lead technology implementation projects from planning through adoption Ideal Background We're looking for someone with experience in: Artificial Intelligence implementation Workflow automation Digital transformation Microsoft Copilot ChatGPT Enterprise Power Automate Business systems integration Process improvement Construction technology (preferred but not required) Experience with commercial construction is a plus. Engagement Details Independent Contractor (1099) Hybrid (Must be able to meet in HQ in Carlsbad, CA on occasion) Estimated Hours: To be discussed based on experience and project approach. Hourly Rate: $140–$200/hour DOE Potential for a long-term engagement Bonus Experience: Construction industry background Procore Monday.com Acumatica Bluebeam Microsoft 365 Business Intelligence platforms API integrations AI implementation at an organizational level
