Data Reporting & Analytics Support Specialist — MS Access / Power BI / SQL / Microsoft Fabric
Worldwide
We are building a business intelligence and sales execution reporting environment for a beverage alcohol sales organization in Oregon. We currently have a Microsoft Fabric data warehouse being developed, with structured sales, inventory, shipment, price history, premises, item, supplier, store, and geography data. We are looking for an additional reporting and analytics support resource to work in parallel with our lead Fabric/data engineer. This role is not intended to replace the core data engineering work. The goal is to help move reporting, analysis, dashboarding, validation, documentation, and operational output work forward while the main Fabric environment continues to be developed. Primary Responsibilities The person in this role will help with: MS Access reporting and linked-table / ODBC workflows Maintaining and improving existing Access-based reports Building Power BI reports and dashboards from approved Fabric warehouse views Creating practical sales, account, territory, and supplier-facing reports Supporting SQL-based analysis and validation Creating clean Excel/CSV outputs for sales reps, GIS mapping, and route planning Supporting account prioritization reports for Road Warrior routing Helping turn business questions into clear reporting outputs Documenting assumptions, calculations, filters, and report logic Example Projects Initial projects may include: MS Access report cleanup, linked-table support, and report modernization Sales rep / territory opportunity reports Supplier performance dashboards Year-over-year sales trend reports On-premise account ranking by rep, area, and territory Road Warrior-ready account priority exports Out-of-stock / lost-sales reporting Key SKU warning reports GIS-ready files for mapping account opportunity by geography Client-facing Power BI reporting prototypes Validation checks between Access, Excel, Fabric, and Power BI outputs Skills Needed Strong candidates should have experience with: MS Access reporting, queries, linked tables, and ODBC workflows Power BI report development SQL querying and data validation Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL, Synapse, SQL Server, or similar data warehouse environments Excel-based reporting and structured CSV exports Data modeling concepts, especially fact/dimension structures Creating reports that are practical for business users, not just technically correct Experience with sales analytics, retail data, route planning, GIS data, or beverage alcohol / CPG reporting is helpful but not required. Ideal Working Style We are looking for someone who is: Practical and execution-oriented Comfortable working from partially developed data models Good at asking clarifying questions before building too far Able to create useful first versions quickly Detail-oriented with calculations and validation Willing to coordinate with an existing Fabric/data engineer Comfortable producing clean, usable outputs for non-technical sales users Able to document report logic clearly so reports can be maintained over time Important Role Separation Our lead Fabric engineer will continue managing the core data warehouse, pipelines, model structure, and primary data integration work. This support role will focus more on Access reporting, Power BI report development, SQL validation, reporting exports, documentation, and business-facing outputs. Account Intelligence / Road Warrior Context One important area of support may involve helping structure account-level intelligence that is currently stored in free-form notes. Examples may include well vodka, buyer or worker names, best days and times to visit, last visit details, follow-up notes, and account priorities. From a reporting and Fabric perspective, the goal is to preserve important account-level intelligence separately from the route itself. This would make the information easier to report on, validate, maintain, and potentially re-upload into Road Warrior Favorites or other sales execution tools so important account knowledge is not lost when routes or favorites are deleted or recreated. Engagement This is an hourly contract role. Initial work will likely be part-time, with the possibility of expanding if the fit is strong. Target rate: $10–$15/hour, depending on experience. Please include examples of MS Access reports, Power BI reports, SQL/reporting work, dashboards, or business analytics projects you have completed.
