Microsoft SQL DBA

I'm looking for an experienced SQL Server DBA to perform a comprehensive, assessment-only health check of a SQL Server environment and deliver a written findings report. This engagement is diagnosis and recommendations only — no implementation. Assessment must cover: Architecture, SQL Server versions/editions, and patch/CU levels Instance and tempdb configuration, memory, MAXDOP / cost threshold for parallelism Performance: wait statistics, top resource-consuming queries, indexing (missing/unused/duplicate), blocking and deadlocks, Query Store Storage and I/O Backup and recovery against stated RPO/RTO, including restore validation review High availability / disaster recovery setup (Always On AG, failover clustering, log shipping, or replication) Security: authentication, permissions, encryption, and patching posture Maintenance: index/statistics jobs, DBCC integrity checks, SQL Agent job health Monitoring/alerting coverage and capacity/growth observations Deliverables: A written assessment report documenting current-state findings and identified problems Prioritized, severity-rated improvement recommendations with a suggested remediation roadmap A findings walkthrough call with stakeholders Requirements: 8+ years as a SQL Server DBA, with demonstrable database health-assessment experience Available to start on the date above and complete within the 3-week window
