Summary

Summary We’re a fast-growing Australian direct-to-consumer eyewear brand looking for an experienced Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) Strategist to help us maximise the performance of our website. Over the past year we’ve scaled significantly through paid media, and while we’ve completed a number of successful CRO experiments in the past, we haven’t had a dedicated optimisation strategy for several months. The difference this time is that you won’t be expected to do the execution yourself. We already have an in-house: * Shopify Developer * Graphic Designer * Creative Strategist * Media Buyer Your job is to identify opportunities, prioritise experiments, and work with our team to execute them. We’re looking for someone who has worked with high-volume Shopify brands and understands how to generate meaningful lifts in conversion rate, AOV and profit through structured experimentation. ⸻ What You’ll Do * Audit our website and customer journey * Develop an ongoing CRO roadmap * Prioritise high-impact experiments * Analyse customer behaviour and identify friction points * Review heatmaps, recordings and analytics * Write detailed testing hypotheses with supporting reasoning * Work closely with our internal developer, designer and creative strategist * Review experiment results and determine next steps * Continuously improve our conversion rate through structured testing ⸻ Examples of Tests We’d Like to Run We’re looking for someone who thinks beyond changing button colours. Examples include: * Homepage redesigns * Landing page optimisation * PDP improvements * Offer positioning * Bundle optimisation * Trust sections * Money-back guarantee testing * Hero section testing * Copy testing * Collection page improvements * Navigation improvements * Cart optimisation * Checkout improvements * Upsell flows * Quiz funnels * Product imagery * Heatmap analysis * Speed optimisation * Mobile UX improvements * Seasonal landing pages * Funnel optimisation * Customer journey improvements If you’ve successfully implemented other CRO ideas we haven’t listed, we’d love to hear them. ⸻ What We’re Looking For * Extensive Shopify CRO experience * Proven results across multiple e-commerce brands * Strong understanding of consumer psychology * Strong analytical skills * Experience using tools like Microsoft Clarity, GA4, Intelligems, Convert, VWO, etc. * Comfortable interpreting A/B test data * Able to prioritise experiments based on expected impact * Excellent communication * Able to work collaboratively with an internal team Bonus points if you’ve worked with brands spending six or seven figures per month on paid advertising. ⸻ This Is NOT A Developer Role You will not be expected to: * Build landing pages * Write code * Design graphics * Edit images * Build Shopify sections We already have specialists for that (Unless this is something you want to do/think you can do better than my in-house members) Instead, you’ll be responsible for identifying opportunities, creating clear briefs, and ensuring our team executes the right experiments. ⸻ What Success Looks Like We don’t expect every experiment to win. A great CRO strategist understands that some tests will lose. Success is measured by: * Consistent experimentation * Strong hypotheses * Learning quickly * Identifying winning ideas * Building a repeatable testing framework that compounds over time ⸻ Why This Role Is Different You’ll be joining a business that already has the internal resources to execute quickly.
