Summary

We are seeking an experienced automation, electrical, and embedded systems engineer to design the schematic and develop the software for a custom PCB reflow oven The system runs on a Raspberry Pi and must precisely follow standard lead-free solder reflow profiles (preheat, soak, reflow, and cooling) Key Responsibilities & Requirements: Electrical Schematic Design: Create a safe, reliable wiring schematic detailing the connections between the Raspberry Pi, thermal sensor amplifiers PID Thermal Control: Implement and tune a Python-based PID loop algorithm to eliminate thermal overshoot and handle heating lag via SSR control.Touchscreen UI (Python): Build a clean, responsive graphical user interface using a framework like PyQt, PySide, or Kivy. Hardware & Input Redundancy:The interface must be optimized for a Raspberry Pi touchscreen, but allow a standard USB mouse to take over seamlessly if the touchscreen fails.Integrate physical hardware buttons for critical operations (e.g., Start, Stop, Emergency Pause) handled via GPIO.Profile Management Database: Program the system to save, edit, and load multiple distinct solder profiles (using JSON or SQLite) optimized for different PCB thicknesses and components. Required Skills:Proven expertise in electrical schematic design (KiCad, Altium, or EasyEDA) with a strong understanding of mains AC safety and hardware isolation.Expert proficiency in Python development for Raspberry Pi (specifically UI frameworks like PyQt/PySide and GPIO interfacing).Deep understanding of PID loop tuning and industrial thermal dynamics.Prior experience with reflow ovens or profile-based industrial heating is highly preferred. Deliverables:Complete electrical schematic diagrams (PDF and native CAD files).Fully functional PID control algorithm and responsive Python UI code.Local profile storage system with pre-configured standard reflow profiles.Clear documentation detailing the tuned parameters and wiring guides.
