A specialcategory, the Rising Star list ranks the 20 companies that have been inbusiness a minimum of three years, but less than five years, thatshowed the highest percentage of revenue growth over the past threeyears (2004 to 2006). Deloitte's Technology Fast500 is a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology, media,telecommunications and life sciences companies in North America.

Rising Star Qualifications
To qualify as a Fast 500 Rising Star, entrants must have had2004 operating revenues of at least $50,000 USD or $75,000 CD, for theUnited States and Canada, respectively, and 2006 operating revenues ofat least $5 million USD or CD.
Entrants must be headquartered in North America, and ownproprietary technology or proprietary intellectual property thatcontributes to a significant portion of the company's operatingrevenues, or devote a significant proportion of revenues to theresearch and development of technology. Using othercompanies’ technology or intellectual property in a uniqueway does not qualify.
