Account Manager – Existing Client Growth & Order Management

Summary

We are a growing promotional products and branded merchandise company looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Account Manager to manage existing client relationships, develop new sales opportunities, and oversee the client-facing order process from initial request through approval and production handoff. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building long-term client relationships, and can turn client conversations and ideas into accurate, well-organized orders. You will be assigned a book of existing client accounts and will be responsible for maintaining those relationships, responding to client needs, proactively identifying new opportunities, and ensuring every approved order is accurately prepared before being handed off to our production team. Key Responsibilities: - Build strong, long-term relationships with an assigned book of existing client accounts. - Proactively reach out to clients with new product ideas, seasonal opportunities, reorder suggestions, and recommendations based on their organization and past order history. - Identify opportunities to grow revenue within existing accounts through consistent follow-up, cross-selling, and proactive recommendations. - Participate in or review recorded client calls and translate client conversations into clear next steps, quotes, presentations, orders, and follow-up communications. - Respond to inbound client requests and help clients identify products and solutions that fit their needs, budget, brand, and timeline. - Source and recommend promotional products, apparel, and branded merchandise based on client needs. - Build accurate quotes and orders, including products, quantities, sizes, colors, pricing, decoration methods, shipping information, and required delivery dates. - Coordinate artwork and proof requests and manage client revisions and approvals. - Write clear, professional, and friendly client emails with minimal oversight or editing. - Follow up consistently on open quotes, pending proofs, outstanding approvals, and other client action items. - Confirm all order details are complete and accurate before submitting an approved order to production. - Ensure required client approvals and payments are received before production handoff. - Provide the production team with a complete, organized handoff containing all information needed to successfully produce and fulfill the order. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date client, opportunity, and order information in HubSpot, Trello, and other company systems. - Handle inbound store orders and general client requests as assigned. - Maintain awareness of upcoming client events, annual programs, recurring orders, and important dates to proactively generate future opportunities. Required Skills & Experience: - 2+ years of experience in account management, customer service, sales support, or a similar client-facing role; B2B experience preferred. - Exceptional attention to detail, particularly when working with quantities, pricing, product specifications, artwork, shipping details, and deadlines. - Excellent written English with the ability to communicate in a professional, friendly, and approachable tone. - Strong organizational and follow-up skills. - Ability to manage multiple clients, quotes, orders, and deadlines simultaneously. - Comfortable working within structured project management and CRM systems. - Ability to take ownership of tasks and follow them through to completion without requiring constant oversight. - Self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment. - Comfortable proactively communicating with clients and identifying opportunities to grow existing relationships. Preferred Experience: - Experience in the promotional products, print, apparel, or branded merchandise industry. - Familiarity with HubSpot, Trello, or similar CRM and project management platforms. - Experience with quoting, order entry, product sourcing, or sales support. - Experience managing a book of existing client accounts. - Experience identifying upsell, cross-sell, and repeat-order opportunities. What Success Looks Like: - Client requests are turned into accurate quotes and orders quickly. - Orders are thoroughly reviewed and complete before being handed off to production. - Client emails are clear, professional, and require minimal editing. - Quotes, proofs, and client requests receive consistent follow-up. - All client activity and opportunities are accurately tracked and organized. - Nothing slips through the cracks. - Clients receive proactive communication and new ideas—not just reactive order support. - Existing client relationships are retained and strengthened. - Your assigned book of business grows through repeat orders, proactive outreach, and new opportunities. - The production team receives clean, complete orders that are ready to move forward without having to chase down missing information. Work Details: - Fully remote. - Full-time, 40 hours per week. - $5/hour plus bonus structure. - Paid time off. - Must be available to work U.S. Central Time business hours, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM. - Long-term role with opportunities for growth.
