CFD/Airflow/Aerodynamic Analysis of CFF_PB, V04 (Cross Flow Fan with Paired Blades, V04),
Worldwide
Request for Proposal (RFP): CFD, CFF_PB,V04 Preferred Solver and Methods: ANSYS Fluent with Overset (Chimera) Meshes Project Budget: $600+/- (Fixed Price) Project Duration: 33 Days This Request for Proposal (RFP) invites qualified contractors to submit proposals for a 2 or 3D computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis of the innovative Cross Flow Fan with Paired Blades, Version 04 (CFF_PB,V04). See additional concept development details in the accompanying pdf document, "CFF_PB_V04_20260308". Project Description. The CFF_PB,V04 features left and right pipe‑segment housings with top and bottom openings and closed end caps. At its core is a drum‑shaped impeller consisting of a sun rotor and multiple planet rotors, with each planet rotor having paired blades (wing and flap). During operation, the impeller draws air through the top opening and expels it through the bottom opening. The interaction between the airflow, housing geometry, and rotating paired‑blade system generates thrust, lift, drag, and complex internal flow structures. The selected contractor will support the concept development of the CFF_PB,V04 by performing a 2 or 3D CFD analysis to evaluate airflow dynamics and aerodynamic performance. Brief assessment and opinion. Per Copilot AI: https://copilot.microsoft.com/shares/sbkepPRKJ3v9FqZXKxVdM CFF_PB should be modeled using Overset (Chimera) meshes in a transient analysis. The nested planet rotors rotating within the sun rotor create interacting, multi‑body motion that is best captured with an overset mesh approach. Overset meshes are specifically designed for nested, interacting, multi‑body motion systems—exactly the case for CFF_PB, where eight planet rotors operate within a sun rotor. An applicable solver with the required method would provide significantly greater stability and robustness for complex kinematics. Your brief assessment or opinion of the expected aerodynamic performance of the V04 configuration is encouraged and will strengthen your proposal. Proposal Requirements. You must submit a Proposal and a Statement of Work (SOW) in PDF format, including: Proposed fee. Estimated completion date. A chosen solver. Description of methods and workflow. List of deliverables. And summary of relevant experience, particularly with rotary fans and cross‑flow fans (CFFs) using an applicable solver and Overset meshes. You must demonstrate proficiency and explicitly commit to using: A solver such as ANSYS Fluent with Overset (Chimera) Meshes. Please describe your experience using dynamic Overset (Chimera) meshes for multi-body rotating systems. Specifically: 1. How many independent moving overset regions have you successfully simulated? 2. What interpolation schemes and hole‑cutting methods did you use? 3. How did you validate overset connectivity and donor–acceptor cell quality? 4. Provide an example where overset was required due to nested or non‑concentric motion. 5. What tools do you use to diagnose overset leakage, orphan cells, or connectivity loss? Completion Schedule (33 Days, 8 Milestones). (1) contract signed, and your submitted design drawings/models completes preliminary review (5 of 33 days,5% of $ budget) (2) design drawings/models completes critical review and start of analysis drawings/models (2 of 33 days,5% of $ budget) (3) your submitted analysis drawings/models completes preliminary review (3 days, 5%) (4) analysis drawings/models completes critical review, and start of 2D or 3D CFD analysis (3 days, 5%) (5) your submitted 2 or 3D CFD analysis completes preliminary review (7 days, 25%) (6) The 2 or 3D CFD analysis completes critical review, and start of analysis report (7 days, 25%) (7) your submitted analysis report completes preliminary review (3 days, 15%) (8) analysis report completes critical review (3 days, 15%). Thank you for your proposal and collaboration on this dream Project for the innovative Cross Flow Fan with Paired Blades.
