Carbonated Electrolyte Beverage Formulation

Formulation for a carbonated electrolyte lifestyle drink positioned between clinical/functional hydration brands like LMNT and Liquid IV on one side, and mass-market lifestyle drinks like Gatorade and Poppi on the other. It will be low sugar, using cane sugar or agave, possiblie steviol. Caffeine inclusion is undecided — we want the formulator's recommendation on whether it fits the positioning, and if so, at what dose. Flavor direction is intentionally open: we want the formulator's input on a profile that fits a "does hard things" athletic-but-not-clinical attitude, whether that lands citrus, fruit-forward, or botanical, and we'll react to samples rather than prescribing a direction upfront. Carbonation should target roughly 3.0–4.0 volumes CO2, the standard range for the energy drink category and Red Bull's benchmark — noticeably lighter than cola (3.5–4.0 vol) but more assertive than sparkling water (2.0–3.0 vol), with the exact level within that range left to the formulator's judgment based on how it reads against the flavor and mineral profile.
