Summary

The Mission it is an innovative sports-tech startup engineering premium performance wearables. We are currently testing prototypes featuring a proprietary, functional textile coating. We need a brilliant Formulation or Polymer Chemist to audit our current liquid matrix, optimize our application vehicle, and design a scalable, skin-safe production roadmap. If Phase 1 is successful, we intend for this advisor to transition into our long-term Lead Chemist. What You’ll Do (Phase 1 Consultation) Process Audit: Optimize our proprietary particulate-infused suspension to ensure uniform fabric coating and eliminate settling issues. Upgrade Chemistry: Transition our liquid matrix from baseline formulations to high-performance, water-based industrial polymer dispersions (such as specialized polyurethanes or flexible acrylics). Crosslinking Strategy: Advise on advanced ambient, low-temperature crosslinking agents to achieve exceptional wash-permanence without compromising synthetic fabric elasticity. Compliance Guardrails: Ensure all chemical recommendations structurally align with international skin-safety standards (OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and ISO 10993-10). What We’re Looking For A degree in Polymer Chemistry, Material Science, Textile Engineering, or a highly related field. Proven experience stabilizing advanced particulate suspensions, smart inks, or functional finishes within liquid media. Deep knowledge of water-based adhesives, commercial coatings, or advanced textile chemistry. A startup-friendly mindset: someone who can translate abstract performance targets into solid, repeatable chemical recipes. How to Apply: Send us a quick summary of your experience with functional coatings or polymer formulations, along with your availability for a short-term advisory sprint.
