About the Role We are seeking a high-EQ Bookkeeping Client Manager to serve as the dedicated liaison between our clients and our internal bookkeeping team. This is a senior client-facing role — you will be the face of our bookkeeping function for every client, leading their monthly and quarterly financial management meetings, delivering CFO-level recommendations, and ensuring the work product produced for them is accurate, complete, and aligned with their business goals. The hands-on bookkeeping is handled by our internal team; your role is to manage the client relationship, oversee the quality of the deliverables, and present financials in a way that builds trust and drives smart business decisions. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact and dedicated client manager for all bookkeeping clients, owning the relationship from onboarding through ongoing engagement Facilitate and lead monthly and quarterly financial management meetings with each client, presenting financial reports and delivering CFO-level recommendations and strategic insights Manage two-way communication between the client and our internal bookkeeping team, ensuring requests, updates, and questions move quickly in both directions Oversee query sheets and outstanding item requests from the bookkeeping team; proactively follow up with clients to obtain missing documentation, clarifications, and account details Review client transactions and books to ensure every transaction is accurately accounted for and aligned with the actual operations of each client's business Develop deep industry expertise across each client's business — becoming a niche expert in the industries we serve so you can advise and account for each business with informed context Review monthly profit and loss summaries, expense breakdowns, and other financial reports prior to client delivery; flag discrepancies, outstanding balances, or unusual transactions to the CEO and bookkeeping team for resolution Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication, high emotional intelligence, and the application of customer service and sales psychology to mirror and connect with each client Coordinate meeting cadences, deliverable timelines, and escalations between clients and the bookkeeping team to ensure nothing falls through the cracks Maintain strict confidentiality of all client financial information in accordance with firm policy and applicable law Qualifications Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping, accounting, or financial advisory experience with demonstrated client-facing or client management responsibility — required Required proficiency in QuickBooks Online — this is our primary platform; familiarity with other accounting platforms is a plus Diligent and detail-oriented — able to spot discrepancies, outstanding balances, and inconsistencies in transaction-level financial data before they reach the client Ability to read, interpret, and present profit and loss statements, expense reports, and other financial reports at a CFO-advisory level Exceptional customer service skills and high emotional intelligence — comfortable building lasting relationships with high earners, business owners, and entrepreneurs Experience working with self-employed individuals, small businesses, entrepreneurs, or contractors — with curiosity and willingness to develop niche expertise in each client's industry Resilient and adaptable communicator with the ability to mirror clients and apply customer service and sales psychology to build trust and ease in every interaction Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple client files, meeting cadences, and concurrent deliverables without dropping detail Strong written and verbal communication — able to clearly present financial data, flag issues, document discrepancies, and deliver recommendations in client-facing meetings Trustworthy, discreet, and professional — comfortable handling sensitive financial data
