HR Compliance & Policy Consultant

Purpose Generate Canada is seeking an experienced Human Resources consultant to conduct a comprehensive review of our HR policies, practices and compliance framework. The successful candidate will assess our current state, identify areas of legal, regulatory and operational risk, and provide practical recommendations to support a growing remote workforce operating across multiple Canadian jurisdictions. A key priority of this engagement will be the review and modernization of Generate Canada's Employee Handbook. Scope of Work The consultant will work collaboratively with organizational leadership to: - Conduct a high-level review of Generate Canada's HR policies, practices and documentation - Review and update the Employee Handbook to align with current legislation, best practices and organizational needs - Assess compliance considerations associated with a remote workforce operating across multiple Canadian provinces - Review employment standards obligations, including considerations related to province of employment and employees working remotely from Quebec - Identify compliance risks, policy gaps and areas requiring clarification or improvement - Review employee record management practices - Provide recommendations to strengthen HR governance, compliance and operational effectiveness - Prepare a summary report outlining findings, recommendations and proposed next steps The consultant is encouraged to identify and investigate additional areas of risk or opportunity that may emerge during the course of the review.
