Summary

HumanIT is a Portuguese IT recruitment and nearshore software services company. We place engineering talent and build nearshore teams for clients across Europe. We are looking for an experienced appointment setter to book qualified meetings for our business team through email, LinkedIn, and phone. This is not a junior or training role. This is a 6-week paid pilot with a clear goal: we need someone who already knows how to run outbound and can produce booked meetings within the first few weeks. You should be able to start writing and sending within days of onboarding, not after a month of ramp-up. Most of the work is written outreach, but we care about conversion, not channel purity. If picking up the phone converts a warm prospect into a booked meeting, we want you to pick up the phone. Use whatever combination works. To be clear about the role: you book the meeting, we take it from there. You are not expected to run discovery calls, pitch our services in depth, or close deals. Our team does that. Your job is to open the door with the right person and hand the meeting over cleanly. What you'll do Run personalised outbound sequences over email and LinkedIn to prospects we define, using Apollo.io as our main outbound platform Hold a real conversation — respond, handle light objections, build enough interest to secure a meeting Call prospects when it helps convert — to follow up on a warm reply, break through silence, or close out the booking Qualify who you're talking to before booking (this is the most important part — see below) Book the meeting directly into our team's calendar Hand off each meeting with clean context: who they are, what was said, what they're interested in Follow up to confirm attendance and minimise no-shows Keep the CRM updated Who counts as a qualified meeting We only meet with people who can actually decide or strongly influence a decision to buy IT recruitment or nearshore services. That means: ✅ Book meetings with: Procurement / vendor management / sourcing — people who manage supplier relationships Tech decision-makers — CTO, VP/Head of Engineering, Engineering Manager, technical hiring managers Talent/recruitment decision-makers — Head of Talent, TA Lead/Director, People leads who own hiring ❌ Never book meetings with: Sales, marketing, finance, or any unrelated function Individual contributors with no decision-making power or influence Anyone who simply agreed to a call without a real reason to talk to us A meeting counts as qualified when: the person fits one of the three groups above, they have a genuine reason to speak with us, they show up, and you hand it over with proper context. Volume is not the goal. A calendar full of meetings with the wrong people is worse than an empty one — it wastes our team's time. We would rather have three great meetings a week than twenty bad ones. What we're looking for At least 2-3 years of proven B2B appointment setting, with results you can point to. We will ask about numbers Primarily email and LinkedIn, with phone used as a conversion tool Experience selling into tech, SaaS, IT services, staffing, or dev services — you need to understand who's who in an engineering org Excellent written and spoken English. Your messages and your voice represent our brand. They need to sound human and specific, not like a template or a script Genuine personalisation — we are not interested in mass-blasting generic sequences Apollo.io experience is strongly preferred — it's our main outbound platform. Experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Lemlist, Instantly or Clay is a plus Good judgment about who is worth contacting — this is what separates a good setter from a bad one European working hours overlap Please do not apply if: You are an agency or will delegate this work to team members. We want to work with the person who actually writes the messages and shows up in the conversation Your background is high-volume dialer-based telemarketing. We call to convert, not to work through a list You are looking for a role where you'll be trained into outbound. We're hiring someone who already knows how to do this Your experience is mainly B2C or local SMB (real estate, insurance, solar, home services) The engagement Pilot: 6 weeks, ~15 hours per week, with extension if results are there Hourly rate + performance bonus — we pay extra per qualified meeting after the 6 week trial period You get the raw material, not training. We provide the ICP, target lists, Apollo.io access, our case studies and positioning. You bring the outreach craft, the judgment, and the execution You are measured on conversion - qualified meetings booked and attended, not messages sent or calls made We expect the first booked meetings within the first 2-3 weeks Weekly check-in and clear tracking of results We are testing this channel properly. If it works, we extend and scale it. To apply - please answer these Applications that skip these questions will not be considered. Please answer in your own words (not with a template). Here is a real scenario. You're prospecting a 200-person software company. You get positive replies from three people: a Marketing Manager, a Head of Engineering, and a Recruitment Coordinator. Which would you book a meeting with, and why? Which would you not, and why not? Show us one real outreach message you've written that got a reply (email or LinkedIn). Please explain what you personalised and why. What is your typical show rate, and what do you do to keep no-shows low? How do you decide when to pick up the phone? Walk us through a case where calling a prospect made the difference between a booked meeting and a dead thread. Which industries have you booked meetings in? Have you sold into technical or engineering audiences before? Are you working solo, or would anyone else be involved in the day-to-day outreach?
