Finance & Accounting Specialist – French Speaker | Swiss VAT & Xero

NOTE: This role requires good French-speaking skills and hands-on experience with Swiss entity accounting and Swiss VAT returns. Applications without this specific experience will not be considered. About the job: We're hiring a Freelance Finance & Accounting Specialist (French-speaking) to support a Swiss company and its Moroccan subsidiary with routine bookkeeping, month-end closing and VAT returns. This isn't a strategic advisory or CFO seat. You'll be getting hands-on in Xero, categorizing transactions, preparing Swiss VAT filings, and coordinating directly with the local accountant in Morocco. What you'll be doing: - Support month-end closing processes across entities - Book accounting transactions regularly in Xero - Prepare Swiss VAT returns for accurate submission - Produce monthly financial reporting statements - Coordinate accounting details with the local accountant in Morocco in French What we're looking for: - Hands-on accounting and bookkeeping experience - Strong working experience using Xero day to day - Good French for working with the Moroccan team, plus solid English - Direct experience supporting Swiss entities and Swiss accounting processes - Hands-on familiarity with Swiss VAT return preparation Nice to have: - Prior work with Swiss SMEs or cross-border setups - Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills - Comfortable working independently in a remote environment Contract: Volume: Approx 15 hours per month Location: Fully remote
