Role Summary: We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day financial operations of the business. This role is ideal for someone with finance experience, relevant finance or accounting studies, and strong attention to detail. The successful candidate will assist with financial administration, payment tracking, reporting, record-keeping, and communication across internal teams. As this role will involve working with colleagues across different departments, the candidate must be able to communicate clearly, follow up professionally, and ensure financial information is accurate, complete, and received on time. This is a hands-on support role that requires someone who can work independently, manage their own tasks effectively, and stay organised in a busy working environment. Key Responsibilities: 1. Financial Administration Support the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records. Assist with invoice processing, payment tracking, and account updates. Maintain organised finance files, records, and supporting documentation. Ensure financial information is recorded clearly, accurately, and kept up to date. Manage assigned finance administration tasks independently and within agreed timelines. 2. Accounts Receivable and Payment Follow-Up Assist in tracking outstanding payments and receivables. Follow up clearly and professionally with internal teams regarding payment status. Help identify missing information, payment delays, or discrepancies. Support the preparation of payment updates and collection reports. Escalate issues where required in a timely and organised manner. 3. Reporting and Data Support Assist in preparing simple financial reports, trackers, and summaries. Support KPI tracking, including revenue, payments, and outstanding balances. Help maintain spreadsheets, dashboards, and finance trackers. Check financial data for accuracy, consistency, and completeness before reporting. Ensure reports and updates are prepared in a clear and structured format. 4. Cross-Department Finance Support Communicate with colleagues across departments to gather finance-related information. Work collaboratively with sales, operations, training, and administrative teams where required. Ensure finance-related updates, queries, and follow-ups are handled professionally. Support smoother internal processes by keeping information clear, organised, and timely. Build positive working relationships across teams. Key Requirements: Previous experience in finance, accounts, bookkeeping, financial administration, or a similar role. A finance-related qualification or relevant studies in finance or accounting fields. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks accurately. Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities. Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly across departments. Good attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Strong numerical and analytical skills. Experience using spreadsheets, particularly Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, as well as finance and CRM systems. Ability to follow up professionally and ensure information is received on time. Able to manage deadlines and complete tasks without constant supervision. Professional, trustworthy, and comfortable handling confidential financial information. Desirable Skills: Understanding of invoicing, payments, accounts receivable, and basic financial reporting. Experience supporting financial reporting or KPI tracking. Ability to identify errors, inconsistencies, or missing information. Previous experience working across multiple departments or internal teams. Previous experience in an education, training, or professional services environment.
