AI-First Bookkeeper / Controller

We're a portfolio of AI and marketing companies (CarDealer.ai, TopMrktr, and T3 Marketing) looking for a bookkeeper/controller who's genuinely excited about AI — not just tolerant of it. If you'd rather build a Claude workflow than do the same task twice, keep reading. What you'll own: Day-to-day bookkeeping across multiple entities in QuickBooks Online (categorization, reconciliations, AP/AR, monthly close) Custom financial reports — segmented P&Ls, cash flow forecasts, anything we can't pull straight out of QBO Controller-level work as you grow into the role. We have a handful of custom reports that are recurring. These should all be automated with Claude agents eventually. We want you continuously automating what you do — every repeat task is a candidate to be replaced or accelerated with AI The AI-first piece (this is the whole job): We don't want someone who "uses ChatGPT sometimes." We want someone who: Already uses Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini daily for real work Has built their own automations (n8n, Zapier, Make, Python scripts, anything) Treats every manual process as a bug Brings tools and workflows to us, not the other way around Bonus points if you've worked with Claude Skills, Projects, MCP servers, or already automated a QuickBooks workflow. Must-have: 3+ years bookkeeping experience (some controller work strongly preferred) Deep QuickBooks Online — can build custom reports without breaking a sweat Strong Google Sheets / Excel Clear written communication (this is async-first) Nice-to-have: Multi-entity / consolidated reporting experience SaaS, agency, or AI company background US business hours overlap Scope: Part-time, 10-20 hrs/week, long-term. Will grow as you take on more.
