Fractional HR Consultant Needed for Growing Construction Company

We are a growing woman-owned construction company in the Los Angeles area looking for an experienced fractional HR consultant to help us put stronger systems, policies, and procedures in place as our company continues to grow. We are looking for someone who understands small business operations, construction environments, subcontractor relationships, employee compliance, onboarding, documentation, job descriptions, workplace policies, and California labor requirements. Responsibilities may include: • Reviewing and improving onboarding documents • Helping create clear HR policies and procedures • Reviewing worker classifications and subcontractor documentation • Assisting with employee and subcontractor handbooks • Supporting hiring processes and job postings • Helping with documentation for performance issues, expectations, and workplace standards • Advising on California HR compliance and best practices • Helping create systems for time tracking, daily logs, safety expectations, and job site conduct Ideal candidate: • Experience with HR for construction, trades, field crews, or small businesses • Strong knowledge of California employment law and HR compliance • Comfortable working with a fast-moving, hands-on company • Practical, direct, and solution-oriented • Able to help create simple systems that are easy for field teams to follow • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus This is a part-time fractional role, starting on an as-needed basis.
