Math Curriculum Reviewer

Overview We're a math curriculum publisher looking for an experienced math teacher to serve as a reviewer and quality check on lessons produced by our in-house curriculum writer. This is a second-set-of-eyes role: you won't be authoring from scratch initially but this is definitely an option in the future. What you'll do Review draft lessons, worksheets, and answer keys for mathematical accuracy — wrong answers, sign errors, mislabeled diagrams, broken problem logic Check alignment to Common Core standards and flag mismatches between stated objectives and actual content Evaluate pedagogical clarity: is the scaffolding sensible? Will a typical student follow the worked examples? Is the difficulty curve reasonable? Verify internal consistency — notation, vocabulary, and formatting conventions across a unit Leave clear, actionable comments the author can act on quickly Occasionally suggest alternative approaches or additional practice problems where a lesson feels thin Who we're looking for 3+ years teaching secondary math (middle school through Algebra II / Geometry is the sweet spot) Strong working knowledge of NGMLS and Common Core math standards Genuinely detail-oriented — this role lives or dies on catching small errors Comfortable giving direct, specific feedback without rewriting someone else's work Reliable turnaround and clear communication Nice to have Prior curriculum writing, editing, or textbook review experience Experience with Regents exams or other state assessments Familiarity with tools like Google Docs, Desmos, or GeoGebra To apply Please include a short note on your math teaching background and the grade levels/courses you've taught.
