Los Angeles-based with a fully remote, distributed team. 🌟 Past Clients Include Justin Bieber · Kelly Clarkson · Blake Shelton · Sony Music · Warner Music · Universal Music · Capitol Records 🎯 The Role We're looking for a sales contractor for our music-marketing services, on a fast track to becoming our lead closer. You'll be onboarded and managed directly by our founders, with day-to-day coaching from our Director of Partnerships — the person who built our sales playbook. Strong performers grow into an expanded, long-term engagement as we scale. 📲 Phase 1 — SDR (first ~3 months) • Run LinkedIn outreach from your own profile to artists, managers, and label execs — DMing for discovery calls, working multi-step cadences, managing follow-ups • Research and identify new lead pools — the core skill that builds your book, and where your effort drives your success • Keep our Pipedrive CRM clean and current • Coordinate calendars, confirm calls, and prep the sales team for every conversation • Track outreach performance and report weekly: what openers convert, what segments respond, what's not working • Maintain list hygiene and deliverability for supporting email outreach • A/B test outreach copy and refine the target list 📈 Phase 2 — Closer (what you ramp into) • Take discovery and pitch calls with artists and managers • Build and close your own book of business • Help shape outbound strategy as we scale • Eventually own the sales function and help bring on the next rep 🔥 Who You Are • You are HUNGRY. The most important qualification. You're willing to grind through commission to build a real sales career, and you understand the upside comes from the work you put in. • You have music industry experience — a job at a label / agency / management company, working-artist experience, deep scene knowledge as a promoter / DJ / curator / journalist, or a music business degree with real-world chops. We care more about passion than pedigree. • You're comfortable using your own LinkedIn for cold outreach. This is non-negotiable — you'll be DMing prospects primarily from your profile. • You're a clear, warm writer in business English and a confident talker on calls. You can hold your own with managers, A&Rs, and label execs even if you've never sat in those seats. • You're self-directed and entrepreneurial — you don't need someone telling you what to do every hour. 🤖 Building With AI We lean hard on AI day-to-day — outreach drafting, prospect research, CRM hygiene, call summaries — and whoever lands this seat helps build that playbook, not inherit it. • You're curious about using AI in your daily work and ready to learn fast • You're happy to experiment, share what works, and help shape how the sales function operates ⭐ Bonus Points (none required — we bet on hunger, not credentials) • Prior work at a label, agency, management company, publisher, or distributor • An existing network of artists, managers, A&Rs, scene people, or label contacts • Experience with Pipedrive (or HubSpot / Close / Salesforce) • Familiarity with LinkedIn Sales Navigator and outbound tooling (Expandi, Heyreach, etc.) • Experience building or running multi-step outreach sequences 🎓 Training & Mentorship • Day-to-day coaching from our Director of Partnerships — who built this playbook and ran sales for years — through your ramp • Direct mentorship from the founders on strategy, pricing, and account-level decisions • Full access to our playbook, pitch decks, case studies, and historical deal data 💰 Compensation (CA market benchmark, final package subject to location) This is a heavily commission-weighted contract — build-your-book, not a flat hourly. You earn commission on every campaign you sell, released as each campaign launches, plus a guaranteed monthly minimum that climbs with your sales pace. • Commission climbs as you ramp: 4% during your paid training (while you're on hourly), 9–11% as a ramped closer, up to 17% at the top tiers • A guaranteed monthly minimum that grows with your pace — from $500 up to $3,500/mo across the normal range • $17/hr for ~5–10 hrs/wk of admin work (CRM, scheduling, lists), guaranteed through your initial 90-day ramp • Larger multi-campaign bundles pay out as the campaigns launch, so your income stays steady • Commission you've earned on booked campaigns keeps paying out as those campaigns launch, even if you move on • The full tier-by-tier commission + minimum schedule is shared after a first screening call ⏱️ Engagement & Hours • 100% remote, independent contractor • Part-time to start (~10–15 hrs/wk during ramp), scaling with closing performance • Some overlap with California business hours for live calls; async otherwise • North America or EU based preferred for time-zone overlap ✅ Ramp & Milestones (first 90 days) A structured initial ramp with clear checkpoints: • Day 14 — onboarded: you know the pitch and playbook, your LinkedIn and our CRM are live • Day 30 — outreach cadence running at target volume • Day 60 — real qualified pipeline built, taking pitch calls • Day 90 — 5–10 closed accounts (or a pipeline credibly about to close that many) 📩 How to Apply In your proposal, cover: (1) why this role and why you, in under 200 words; (2) one example of music marketing — a release or campaign — you think was done especially well, and why; and (3) your music-industry background and any cold-outreach experience.
