Power BI Developer

Contract Power BI / Microsoft Fabric Consultant We are a growing data and analytics consulting business looking for a skilled Power BI / Microsoft Fabric contractor or freelancer for a long-term partnership. This role may begin as contract work, with the potential to grow into a contract-to-hire or ongoing strategic partnership as the business expands. We support clients with reporting, analytics, data modeling, Power BI design, Microsoft Fabric, SQL, data engineering, and operational reporting solutions. We are looking for someone who can not only build technically strong solutions, but also think through business problems, communicate clearly, and help deliver polished, client-ready work. What You’ll Work On Power BI report development, redesigns, and dashboard builds Data modeling, semantic model optimization, and report performance improvement Advanced DAX measures and calculations Power Query / M transformations and data preparation SQL development, query optimization, and data validation Microsoft Fabric solutions, including Lakehouses, Warehouses, Dataflows, Pipelines, Notebooks, and related architecture Data engineering workflows for reporting and analytics Operational, financial, labor, revenue, exception, and performance reporting Documentation of logic, data flows, assumptions, and report behavior Client-facing deliverables that are clean, professional, and easy to use Any experience with Microsoft Fabric Apps is a strong plus. Ideal Background The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building production-level Power BI and Microsoft data solutions. You should be comfortable working independently, asking good questions, and translating business needs into reporting and analytics solutions. Strong candidates will have experience with: Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service Microsoft Fabric DAX, including complex measures and calculation logic Power Query / M SQL Data modeling and star schema design Report UX/UI design and dashboard layout Data validation and reconciliation Performance tuning Client-ready documentation Fabric Apps, Power BI Apps, or embedded-style reporting experiences What We’re Looking For This is not just a one-off project posting.
