Summary

We are developing a large-scale Unreal Engine 5 game that combines open-world action, story-driven missions, urban exploration, and high-quality driving gameplay. The game takes place in a detailed city environment and includes vehicles, traffic, pedestrians, characters, missions, cinematic sequences, interactive locations, and multiple gameplay systems. We already have the game concept, storyline, scenarios, environment-production pipeline, 3D assets, and an existing development team. We are now looking for a Senior Unreal Engine 5 Developer who can take ownership of major gameplay systems and help us build a stable, scalable, and production-ready foundation for the full game. This is not a short prototype or simple Blueprint task. We are looking for someone with experience developing substantial UE5 gameplay systems, preferably for open-world, driving, racing, action, or story-based games. Responsibilities The selected developer will work closely with our internal team to design, implement, integrate, and optimize core systems, including: Player movement and character gameplay Vehicle driving and vehicle interaction systems Mission, objective, checkpoint, and quest logic Story progression and gameplay event systems NPC, pedestrian, traffic, and enemy AI Character interactions and dialogue systems Cinematic integration using Unreal Sequencer Trigger zones and interactive city locations Vehicle entering and exiting Race, chase, delivery, escape, and pursuit missions Police or wanted-level systems Save and load systems UI, HUD, map, navigation, and mission indicators Integration of MetaHuman characters and animations Integration of externally created buildings, vehicles, characters, and props World Partition, Level Streaming, and large-world management Gameplay debugging, profiling, and performance optimization Maintaining clean and scalable Blueprint and C++ architecture Supporting source control and collaborative development workflows The exact responsibilities may be divided between our developers depending on the candidate’s strongest areas. Required Experience Please apply only if you have strong professional experience with Unreal Engine 5. You should have: Advanced knowledge of Unreal Engine 5 Strong Blueprint development skills Strong C++ experience for Unreal Engine Experience building production-level gameplay systems Experience with open-world or large-environment projects Experience with World Partition and Level Streaming Experience with vehicle systems and driving mechanics Experience with AI, Behavior Trees, EQS, navigation, and NPC logic Experience with mission, objective, or quest systems Experience using Unreal Sequencer for gameplay cinematics Experience integrating animations, characters, and vehicles Experience profiling and optimizing UE5 projects Understanding of multiplayer-ready or modular architecture, even though multiplayer may not be part of the initial scope Experience using Git, Perforce, or another source-control system Ability to work with an existing development and 3D-production team Preferred Experience Candidates with experience in any of the following will receive special consideration: Open-world action games Racing or driving games GTA-style gameplay systems Police, chase, traffic, or wanted systems Chaos Vehicles MetaHumans Motion Matching Gameplay Ability System Smart Objects Mass AI or Mass Entity Large urban environments Unreal Engine optimization for PC and consoles Steam game development and deployment Console development Technical leadership or senior architecture responsibilities Important Application Requirements Please do not send a generic proposal. This position is specifically for a senior gameplay and systems developer. Initial Evaluation Shortlisted candidates may be invited to: Review the current project structure Join a technical interview Discuss the architecture of one major gameplay system Complete a small paid technical test or initial milestone The test will be designed to evaluate code quality, Blueprint structure, scalability, communication, and understanding of production-level Unreal Engine development.
