I'm a Computer Science graduate from FCSE Skopje with a 9.3/10 GPA and proven experience building production systems across the full stack. Backend Development: I work daily with Python and FastAPI for high-performance services, have extensive experience with Spring Boot and Spring Security for enterprise applications, and build RESTful APIs with proper authentication and data persistence layers using Spring Data JPA. Frontend & Full-Stack: I've developed user interfaces with Angular, ReactJS and NextJS and have hands-on experience creating complete full-stack applications from database to UI. Databases & Data: Proficient with PostgreSQL for relational data, Neo4j for graph databases, pgvector for vector similarity search, and Redis for caching in distributed systems. Cloud & Infrastructure: I architect and deploy microservices on Microsoft Azure using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code), containerize applications with Docker and Docker Compose, and have experience with AWS services including Glue for ETL pipelines. AI & Machine Learning: Currently building production RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems, developing agentic architectures with LangGraph and AutoGen, and implementing AI workflows with Langfuse for monitoring and observability. DevOps & Best Practices: Established CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions with pre-commit hooks and linters, designed distributed systems with RabbitMQ messaging queues, and implement comprehensive monitoring with Spring Boot Actuator. I've proven I can own projects end-to-end, from architecture to deployment, delivering systems that handle thousands of concurrent users. I can help optimize your infrastructure, accelerate your development process, and build scalable solutions that work reliably in production.

I'm a Senior Full Stack and DevOps Engineer with 5+ years of experience building production-grade applications. I graduated with First Class Honours in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, and started writing code professionally at 18. I've shipped 20+ projects across eCommerce, SaaS platforms, real-time trading systems, bioinformatics tools, CRMs, and job marketplaces. I don't just build features. I own them end to end, from API design and database modelling to frontend UI and cloud deployment. What I work with: Frontend: React, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Flutter Backend: Node.js, NestJS, Express, Java, Spring Boot Databases: PostgreSQL, Redis, ClickHouse Cloud: AWS (EC2, ECS, S3, CloudFront, RDS), GCP DevOps: Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, Terraform, Flux CD, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry Integrations: Stripe, HubSpot, OpenAI, Anthropic API, Socket io Testing: Playwright, Jest Recent work I'm proud of: Built a real-time Memecoin Trade marketplace processing thousands of events per second using Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis, Bull queues, Socket io, and Stripe. Sub-50ms latency in production. Built a HubSpot integration for a UK price quote application, automating the workflow between sales and client management. Set up a full homelab Kubernetes cluster with Flux CD GitOps, Grafana, Prometheus, and Cloudflare Tunnel running self-hosted services in production. I work independently, communicate clearly, and deliver on time. I'm comfortable in mature codebases, fast-moving startups, and everything in between. If you need someone who can ship real things, let's talk.

It was the most important moment of my 13+ years of career. It was when I realized that there is always a trade-off in technology. You have to do something intentionally bad in order to succeed as a Small Medium Business in the Digital Transformation. And 70% fail because they insist on doing this very thing well. A while back, when I finally landed a job in a corporation, I was excited that I was going to use state-of-art technology. But, one of my first features immediately added some bugs. As I fixed those bugs, I introduced another, but also other bugs started to pop up caused by previous developers. In laymen terms, it is like a Rubik’s cube. As you carry on assembling the second face, you may accidentally mess up the first bit. It wasn’t like that when I started my career in technology in the civil service a long time ago. Yes, I was frustrated because we used old boring technology. But, we didn’t have to put out the fire all the time because that limited technology prevented us from getting in this position. Coincidence or not, the easiest way to solve the Rubik’s cube is putting constraints. If you move towards, you have to move backwards at some point. Fast forward to nowadays, some of my clients want to create highly customized User Experience. As the project starts to grow, hyper customization introduces more complexity. Then, you make a small change and get unexpected results. You didn't account for all the complex consequences. And this happens again and again, and you can’t avoid it. The software had become brittle. You start to miss deadlines or have to hire more developers to fix cracks faster, and eventually I get hired. That’s the time I have the hard talk: don’t bite more than you can chew, stop chasing the perfect User Experience (good User Interface is not a problem though) with a small team. If a BigTech didn’t have to hire thousands of engineers to provide that, they certainly wouldn’t. Anyway, User Experience is only noticed by B2C clients, and this is where Big Techs thrive. In B2B or internal tool software, who pays for the software won’t even use it. Hey, my name is João, I’m a software architect and developer, feel free to send me a message asking how I can make your business grow. What technologies do I work with? The simple ones: HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Bash, XML, PostgreSQL, Apache Camel, Apache Knowledge Is Everything, Keycloak. If you need a hypercustomized solution, I can decently program in Java, Python and JavaScript, though. If you have any doubts, don’t hesitate to contact me.
