I am an electrical and software design engineer with experience in hardware, software (C/C++/Embedded C), and embedded design. My experience in hardware design includes PCB design, from schematic capture and layout to assembly and testing, along with design for manufacture (both small scale prototyping, and oversight of large-scale production runs through contract manufacturers). I have designed and worked with single layer, dual-layer, and multi-layer PCBs and have experience in designing circuit boards for high power, high voltage, and high-speed applications. My software and embedded systems design expertise includes programming with various microcontroller platforms (Atmel, SiLabs, Cypress, Microchip, etc.) with programming competencies in C/C++, C#, VB.NET, Python, and LUA. I am the creator and manager of an open source C++11 project on GitHub called Omni-FEM. The program utilizes OpenGL v2.1, wxWidgets v3.10, Qt5.0, an open source mesher called GMSH, and an open source data visualizer called ParaView. I am currently staffed at the Resonance Group agency where I have designed hardware and software for data acquisition applications. My previous work includes PLC design at DTE Energy, designing a PCB motor controller at Dana Holding Corporation, and creating system level documentation at UTC Aerospace (formerly Hamilton Sundstrand). I always like a new challenge and am looking to broaden my horizons. If you would like to know more about my skill set and how I can fit into your project, feel free to contact me.PCB Design

Hello! I'm an electrical engineer who has led the development of many consumer electronic products. One of which even appeared on Shark Tank! I have a strong knowledge in physical prototype development (3D printers/laser engravers/CNC routers/wiring/bread boarding/PCB design). I also have 8 years' experience with C/C++. Pretty much everything needed to do prototype product design! After prototyping, I have the ability to convert the designs into mass-manufacturable products (DFM). I have also worked intimately with factories to develop SOPs for product mass production using Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methodologies. All together, I have spent over 6 months in Chinese factories getting products mass manufactured. All said: I can help you design your project or product start to finish!PCB Design

Sid is passionate about bringing electrical project ideas and concepts all the way to completion as design files ready for mass production. From making sure the initial idea is viable, to choosing the parts, designing the electrical schematic, and routing the PCB...to writing, debugging and testing the firmware required for the requisite functionality. PROGRAMMING • 18 years of experience with programming in C/C++, BASIC, and Assembler (machine code). • Extensive experience writing firmware utilizing hardware interrupts, MCU peripherals, RTOS, and multithreading. • Equally at home writing firmware for 8-bit processors (Microchip PIC, 8051, etc.) as with 32-bit processors (including ARM-based processors, the ESP32 product series, and more). • Writes tight and efficient code that is both fast and very lightweight: reduces processor requirements and cost. • Experience in writing secure firmware update infrastructure (for any processor with bootloader provision and self-write capability, including the ESP32). • Use of captive-portal HTML5 web UIs for easy headless product field setup and configuration, bypassing the need for iOS & Android app development and costs. ELECTRICAL • 16 years of experience designing schematics & PCBs in EDA software. (Currently using KiCAD, a powerful cross-platform EDA suite. As it's free, that means that you can easily view project design files at any time without any costly subscription requirements.) • Enjoys finding creative and unusual solutions to design challenges (both electrical and software), to meet budgetary requirements and/or space constraints. • Experience with both monochrome and color LCD UIs, with user interaction via physical buttons, switches, encoders, touch pads, TFT LCD touchscreens, IR remotes and more.PCB Design

PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL OVERVIEW A blend of curiosity, inquisitiveness, persistence, determination and a need to understand everything at a fundamental level have all allowed me to achieve a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, hold a number of interesting & challenging technical jobs, and run a highly successful engineering consulting business over the past 2+ decades. My initial focus is on listening to and understanding my customers' minimum set of requirements, overall goals, and all corresponding project and company-related constraints. I then work diligently and efficiently to develop optimized and sometimes novel solutions that are aligned with my customer's unique set of technical challenges, budget, and schedule. I accomplish this by always maintaining focus on the overall vision and desired outcome of the project, while simultaneously being able to dive deep into complex technical details.PCB Design

I'm an electrical engineer, with 3 years of experience in an industrial setting designing power systems for induction heating equipment. This role has given me a deep understanding of power electronics, power systems, control systems, circuit analysis, and above all else - a passion for learning. Previous to this role, I spent 2 years building technical experience with PCB's as a circuit board repair technician. My skills and experience give me an edge in the industrial job market, but I am looking to hone in on my true passion - embedded systems. In my free time, I love working on projects involving both hardware and software. Bridging the gap between the two in a finished product is like magic for me. Whether you're looking for someone to take on a short term project, or someone to bring on full time as a hardware engineer, look no further.PCB Design
