Chelsea is a documentary filmmaker and journalist based in New York City. Her words have appeared in Mosaic, an NJ-based outlet, where she wrote about arts, culture, health, and sports. She is currently working in collaboration with Beacon College and PBS for their series “A World of Difference: Embracing Neurodiversity”. Chelsea filmed and edited a 5-minute segment for this special that will premier on PBS in February 2025. Chelsea was influenced early in life by the film Bahía de Cochinos, Nuestra Perspectiva: a documentary about the Bay of Pigs Invasion through the eyes of Cuban exiles. Her grandfather, Angel Casabona, was one of the main characters in the documentary. Consequently, Chelsea spent her undergraduate years learning about history and politics while dabbling in videography. In 2023, Chelsea combined her love for video creation and learning about the world around her by pursuing her master’s in documentary journalism at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. She graduated with honors in August 2024. For her master’s project, Chelsea co-directed/produced/edited and shot her first short-documentary, METTLE.
