Think we have all the pertinent pieces. Just need kicked in the right direction. We have a test assembly mostly built and configured except for the load cell amplifier analog output being wired in. Components being used are as follows:
Powerflex 700 Vector Drive
AB 1329 3 Phase 1.5HP Motor
2000PPR BEI Differential Encoder.
Roller chain Sprocket assembly approximately 27:1 ratio
Control Logix L55 Processor
0-1000 pound s type load cell with 0-10v or 4-20mA Amplifier
The process needs to keep 600 pounds of tension on a #40 roller chain and a ~3" diameter sprocket. The process is slow and should hold at zero speed until tension hits 600 pounds. Then it should, not real aggressively, maintain that 600 pounds at about 18rpm for about 80 revs then rewind at a higher speed and start over.
The level of help necessary should be minor. Mainly need help on integrating load cell and Powerflex700 parameters. We are proficient with most Logix programming especially if it were a constant speed application. But we need direction for this Constant Torque application and how to integrate load cell. There is no DriveLogix here since it is an older Powerflex 700. So, the L55 and/or the standard drive parameters must handle the task.
The Powerflex 700 assembly we have built is a test mock up. Ultimately we would love to use a Powerflex 70 to handle this task. Not sure if the level of control is there on the 70 though.
Deliverables should be simple on this. We do not require some in depth brief or ready to download program. We feel we would need some communication and basic suggestions such as set parameter XXX to yyy, create zzz tag in logix, create these 4 rungs and so on.
