Need a product taken from an idea to something people can understand, approve, and want to buy? I create precise CAD models, photorealistic 3D product renders, and product animations using Fusion 360 and Blender. Send a sketch, dimensions, reference photos, a CAD file, or a rough brief, and I can turn it into a clear 3D model and presentation-ready visual assets. I have 5+ years of experience in 3D modeling, product visualization, rendering, and animation. I work with brands, product designers, startups, manufacturers, e-commerce sellers, and agencies that need a product to look accurate, polished, and ready to show. MY CORE SERVICES CAD Modeling & Product Development • Fusion 360 CAD modeling for product concepts, parts, assemblies, enclosures, fixtures, furniture, and consumer products • 3D models built from sketches, technical drawings, dimensions, reference photos, existing CAD, or physical-product references • Parametric modeling, model changes, product variations, component edits, and clean file organization • CAD conversion and preparation of agreed file formats for review, rendering, prototyping, or downstream production discussions • 3D-printable models when the project requirements, tolerances, and output format are agreed in advance 3D Product Modeling & Rendering • Accurate 3D product models for electronics, skincare and beauty products, packaging, furniture, home goods, accessories, fixtures, vehicles, and mechanical products • Photorealistic product rendering in Blender with carefully built materials, lighting, reflections, shadows, and camera composition • White-background product renders, studio renders, hero images, detail shots, lifestyle scenes, and product variation images • Product visuals for e-commerce listings, websites, Amazon or Shopify content, presentations, brochures, pitch decks, product launches, and advertising • Realistic metal, glass, plastic, wood, fabric, painted surfaces, packaging, labels, and branded details 3D Product Animation • Product turntables and 360-degree showcase animations • Product reveal videos and cinematic camera movement • Exploded views, assembly animations, installation sequences, and feature demonstrations • Short 3D product videos for websites, ads, social media, and launch campaigns • Animation-ready scenes with organized objects, materials, cameras, and lighting I use Fusion 360 where precision, proportions, and product structure matter. I use Blender to give the product its visual presence through materials, lighting, rendering, compositing, and animation. That means you can work with one freelancer from an early concept or CAD model through to the images and animations used to present it. WHAT YOU RECEIVE Every project is different, but depending on the agreed scope, deliverables can include: • Fusion 360 CAD files and editable Blender scene files • High-resolution PNG or JPG renders • Transparent-background images for online listings and design layouts • Product images in the sizes needed for web, e-commerce, presentations, or print • MP4 product animations, turntables, reveal videos, or explainer clips • Agreed 3D exchange formats such as STEP, STL, OBJ, FBX, GLB, or GLTF, where suitable for the project • Textures, materials, source files, and organized assets when included in the scope I do not believe good product work is only about making something look attractive. It should also be clear. A client should be able to see the product's proportions, materials, key features, and purpose without guessing. Whether the output is a clean e-commerce image, an animation explaining how a product works, or a CAD model ready for review, I focus on making the result useful as well as visually strong. HOW I WORK I begin by understanding what you need the model, render, or animation to achieve. I review the available references, confirm the required deliverables, agree on the visual direction, and identify any missing information before work begins. During the project, I communicate clearly, share progress at the appropriate stages, and use feedback to refine the result. This prevents surprises at the end and keeps the project moving in the right direction. Clients have recognized my clear communication, commitment to quality, accountability, collaboration, and attention to detail. I take those points seriously: I keep files organized, respect agreed requirements, ask questions when something is unclear, and care about the small details that make a 3D product feel convincing. If you need CAD modeling, 3D product modeling, Fusion 360 design, Blender rendering, photorealistic product visualization, e-commerce product images, 3D product animation, a turntable, an exploded view, or a complete model-to-render workflow, I would be glad to discuss your project. Send your sketch, CAD file, dimensions, product photos, references, or brief, and I will help you choose the right next step.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, my duties are to design not only the parts that customers need, but also, help optimize the part design, prototype the design, create detailed blueprints for manufacturing and even design the injection mold tools that will produce the parts in mass. After the design is started, I collect all information to assist with the part designing process. I create the preliminary part design then, work with the customers to make any adjustments that may be needed. Through this time I 3d print prototypes if needed to send to the client. We then have a final review to make sure the design is functioning and cost effective for manufacturing processes. Once the design is approved, I can design the injection mold tool if needed. I can help to source manufacturing and offer consulting for any questions through the entire process. For some customers I program the CNC mills and lathes in order to produce every component needed to make the parts or injection mold tools. At my full time job I work doing all of the same things from above, We design parts, and injection molds, build the molds then run them all in house. After the first run we verify all dimensions are within tolerance make any changes needed then start production. Product designer hiring guide

Hiring a product designer helps transform an idea into a product that's intuitive, useful, and aligned with your business goals. The right product designer balances user needs, functionality, and visual design to create experiences that drive adoption.

What does a product designer do?

A product designer shapes how a digital product looks, feels, and functions across its full lifecycle. They balance user research, interaction design, and visual design so every screen serves a clear purpose.

These are typical activities for product designers:

  • Conduct user research and turn findings into personas, journeys, and design requirements
  • Use tools like Figma, Sketch, and Adobe XD to design, prototype, and hand off their work
  • Create wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes to test ideas early
  • Design high-fidelity UI screens, including responsive layouts and edge-case states
  • Build and maintain design systems so components stay consistent as the product grows
  • Partner with engineers and product managers to ship designs and refine them after launch

How to hire a product designer on Upwork

Hiring a product designer on Upwork follows four clear steps, from writing your job post to starting the work. Here's how to find the right fit for your product.

Step 1: Post a job

Describe your product, the project scope, and the deliverables you expect so the right designers apply. Be specific about the type of design work you need and the tools your team uses.

  • Note whether you need wireframes, prototypes, full UI design, or end-to-end product design
  • Specify the tools you use, such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD, along with any existing design system
  • Define the deliverables, including source files, interactive prototypes, responsive screens, and developer handoff specifications
  • Share your timeline, budget, and expected revision rounds
  • Review this product designer job description and adapt content to help you attract strong candidates

For a fast start, use our Job Post Generator, powered by Uma™, Upwork's Mindful AI. Describe what you need in a few sentences and Uma will draft a job post for product designers. On Upwork, the average time from job post to first proposal is just three hours.

Step 2: Evaluate candidates

Review portfolios to understand how designers solve product problems, not just how polished the final screens look.

  • Examine portfolios for evidence of user research, usability testing, and research-driven decisions
  • Look for examples that show design iterations and how products improved over time
  • Evaluate experience building design systems, reusable components, and consistent user experiences
  • Confirm proficiency with Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD and well-organized design files

Uma can run instant video interviews and provide shortlists of candidates with side-by-side comparisons.

Step 3: Interview your top choices

Use interviews to understand how each designer approaches product decisions, collaboration, and user-centered design.

  • Ask candidates to walk through a recent product design project from research to final UI
  • Discuss how they balance user needs with competing stakeholder feedback
  • Explore how user testing has influenced their design decisions and iterations
  • Review additional questions from these UX designer interview questions and our common interview questions guide
  • Consider a small paid design exercise or discovery project before committing to a larger engagement

You can schedule and conduct live video interviews within Upwork Messages, with transcripts and summaries available after each call.

Step 4: Agree on scope and begin work

Before work begins, align on deliverables, timelines, and responsibilities so everyone shares the same expectations.

  • Define deliverables such as Figma files, interactive prototypes, design systems, and developer handoff documentation
  • Confirm ownership of source files, intellectual property, and access to shared design tools before work begins
  • Set milestones tied to research, wireframes, design reviews, prototyping, and final delivery
  • Agree on revision rounds, approval checkpoints, and communication expectations

Use Upwork's contract workroom and Messages to keep feedback, files, and approvals in one place. Identity verification, payment protection, hourly tracking, and project funds help keep the project secure and on track.

Frequently asked questions

Is hiring a product designer worth it?

Yes, for most teams building digital products, a skilled product designer can help reduce costly rework, improve usability, and create experiences that better meet user needs. Practitioners in Reddit's r/ProductDesign and r/UXDesign communities also frequently note that investing in user research early helps identify problems before development begins.

What's the difference between a product designer and a UX designer?

A UX designer focuses mainly on research, flows, and usability, while a product designer owns that plus visual design and business outcomes. In practice, product designers often work end to end, from problem definition through polished UI.

Is AI replacing product designers?

No, AI isn’t replacing product designers. AI tools speed up tasks like generating variations and drafting copy, but they can't replace judgment about users, trade-offs, and product strategy. Most product designers now use AI to move faster while they retain ownership of decisions.

What do I do after I hire a product designer?

After hiring a product designer, start by aligning on scope, milestones, and the first deliverable, then set a regular check-in to review work. Keep feedback specific and tied to user goals so each design round moves the product forward. On Upwork, 89% of first-time clients complete a contract, giving new clients confidence as they begin working with freelancers.
