Venmo: A Flexible Billing Method on Upwork
Upwork clients and freelancers based in the U.S. can now add Venmo as a billing option in the platform. Find details and instructions in this guide.
At Upwork, we’re committed to helping make completing transactions on the platform as easy as possible. To support this commitment, we accept a number of billing methods, including Venmo.
Venmo is available as a billing method for U.S.-based Upwork clients and freelancers.
How to use Venmo as a billing method on Upwork
To help simplify the process of paying freelancers on Upwork as a client, you can add Venmo as a billing method to pay for contracts, bonuses, and other services on Upwork.
Freelancers on Upwork can also use Venmo to pay for Freelancers Plus memberships and buy Connects. At this time, Venmo can’t be used for payouts or disbursements for freelancers.
To use Venmo on Upwork, you need to be based in the U.S., have an active Venmo account in good standing, and have a financial account connected to your Venmo wallet.
