Freelancers Take Over Times Square
Real-life freelancers took over New York City’s Times Square with 228 professionals from around the world featured on 46 digital billboards around the iconic district. The display marked Upwork’s transition from a private to public company.
Behind the campaign
When given the opportunity to take over Times Square for a day, we knew exactly how to use the space: feature the freelance professionals who make Upwork possible.
From customer service experts to data analysts, multiple screens featured talent from the U.S. and around the world. Watch the video below to see what it looked like. Were you featured in the campaign? Check out the YouTube playlist to find yourself!
The campaign’s overall storyline and design illustrate that today’s office has no walls — flexible workers are the new way of working. The displays also showcase the diverse ecosystem of talent on Upwork that businesses can rely on to get complex projects done.
From everyone at Upwork, thank you for being a part of our community and continuing the journey with us!
