I'm a Top Rated freelancer here on Upwork with a 100% Job Success Score, and I maintain this status by providing exceptional editing and writing services to all of my clients—each and every time. I have extensive experience with editing and proofing all kinds of content—memoirs, novels, non-fiction narratives, business manuals, and self-help guides, as well as books in all sorts of other genres. To date, I've expertly edited over 100 manuscripts that have gone on to successful publication. I'm also skilled and adept at polishing and perfecting business documents, corporate materials, and academic essays. I'll take your already brilliant work and ensure that it shines more than you thought possible. Please take a moment to review testimonials from my previous projects—all five star ratings from incredibly satisfied clients. What kind of editing do you require? I can perform any or all of the following for you: •Content Editing – a careful edit of the manuscript with an eye on the completeness, construction of ideas, tone, and overall flow •Line Editing – the correcting of run-on sentences, sentence fragments, and clichés. Muddled meanings are clarified, jargon is eliminated, and each sentence sounds right in the reader’s mind •Developmental Editing – plot holes, character arcs, pacing, and dialogue issues are addressed. Suggestions are given for a more complete telling of the story while considering the "big picture" •Copy Editing and Proofreading – a no-stone-unturned edit of spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors. If necessary, layout issues are addressed and corrected (inconsistent page breaks, headings, overall layout, page numbering, etc.) Or perhaps you require a content writer? As a seasoned writing professional for over a decade, my stories and articles have run the veritable gamut of subject areas. To name but a wee handful: •The plight of political prisoners in Belarus •A trio of Emmy Award winners from Ontario, Canada •A displaced Vietnamese orphan’s quest to reunite with his family and heritage •Annual wine festivals in Armenia and Iran •The astronomical flux in current real estate trends •Language recognition in Moldova and Romania In addition to exceptional editing and writing skills, stellar communication with my clients is at the cornerstone of what I do. Listen: I fully understand and appreciate that there's a great amount of trust involved when selecting someone to handle your message with care—someone who will treat your words with respect and accuracy while keeping you informed of how the process is coming along. There's nothing worse than surrendering your precious work to someone and having them disappear with no contact until they finally submit it to you. "Uh, where's my freelancer? Is he still working on my project? The deadline is coming up. Panic!" This doesn't happen when you choose to work with me. I absolutely pride myself on an excellent "desk-side" manner with each and every client, and I stay in touch throughout my process to let you know how things are going and that we're still on track for deadline. Of course, if you prefer little to no communication and just want the project done, that's fine, too! I'll never badger my clients, but it's important that they know they're in good hands. Also, I always remain available after submission to address any outstanding issues or questions that may arise. I'm not happy until you are. Contact me—I'm excited to get started on your project.Book Editing

When I hired her to help me publish my book, I was nervous and didn’t have a big vision for the book. I thought I would only quietly release an ebook. She encouraged me to think bigger. To dream bigger. To tell the world my story because so many people needed to hear it and not just my inner circle. Chisom guided me through the final manuscript by making sure my messages were clear, my voice and personality shined through on paper, and helped me gain confidence to know that my book was worthy enough to be published. She was simply amazing throughout the entire process. If you are thinking about writing and publishing a book and don’t know where to start or to do next, definitely schedule a consultation with Chisom. This was my first book project and I didn't know the end to end process of how to turn a manuscript into a published book and then to launch it on Amazon and IngramSparks. Chisom explained how it all worked and was very, very patient with myself and my team throughout the entire project. She excels at book editing, proofreading, communication and delivering a very high quality book. I would definitely use her again for any future book projects." Clement DeCrop, Author, The Idea Space: "Chisom was able to execute a super difficult, image heavy (200+) project. My name is Olesya, and I'm here to make your story shine. Do you have a brilliant story idea, but you're not sure where to start? Or maybe you're lost in the editing, and you're looking for a shortcut to get to the core of your story, fast? I offer a wide range of services from proofreading to full developmental edits to ghostwriting. Wherever you are in your writing journey, I'm here to help. Why me? Because I'm passionate about creative writing, and I have proven expertise in giving the kind of feedback you need to transform your work. Here are just a few reasons to hire me: - I signed with a literary agent in March 2021, and my debut novel is being traditionally published in April 2025. - I was chosen as a mentee for Pitch Wars 2020, after competing against 4000+ other writers. I'm currently revising my historical feminist noir manuscript with a stellar team of published authors – and I'm ready to share their tips with you! - I was selected for the highly selective Writing a Novel course at the Faber Academy, where I spent half a year workshopping my manuscript with a group of highly talented writers. Hello! I'm an adept and reliable editor/writer with several years' worth of experience in creative writing, SEO and content writing, copyediting, line editing, developmental editing, and proofreading. My goal is to eventually end up as the freelance editing/writing equivalent of Kobe Bryant. In other words, someone who is highly efficient, clutch, extremely attentive to detail, and the hardest working! I am a graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University's (formerly Ryerson) journalism program with a minor in English. I've written extensively for the National Post, Bloomberg, The Ryersonian, Yonge Magazine, The EyeOpener, Huffington Post, and several other publications. I also served as head Deputy Editor/Head Copyeditor at The Ryersonian, and for two years I operated as Co-Founder and Executive Editor of Yonge Magazine, a successful online multimedia platform. My short fiction can be found online at STORGY Magazine, in Sixfold's Summer 2023 Issue, and in the Muskeg Press collection of short stories entitled, "Influenced: Stories From the Lockdown." My skills include editing anything and everything (from textbooks to short stories, SEO content to graduate theses), copyediting, copywriting, proofreading, line editing, general/substantive editing, unique fiction writing, ghostwriting, writing editorial content on a variety of topics (film, television, music, sports, food, travel, health, SEO content, etc.), and researching and fact-checking. My main goal on Upwork is to help you create the most polished and creative product imaginable. So, if you're a fiction writer looking to take your manuscript to the next level, a content creator in need of some final last-minute touches on a blog post, or someone who needs an inspired and highly imaginative writer to deliver on some professional editorial/fiction pieces, then I'm the man for the job!Book Editing

I offer adaptable editing, where I start by learning what the author's goals are including the intention of the writing as well as the desired readership. From there we work together to make your document the best version of itself. I work Monday to Friday (PST) and pride myself on being responsive and meeting deadlines. Returning clients love that I coach writers (at their request) to grow and therefore need less editing. I am interested in plain language editing, trauma-informed editing, and decolonizing editing and work to grow in these areas. I offer services in proofreading, copyediting (with optional line editing), and developmental editing. I'll also offer manuscript or chapter critiques. I have 20+ years of professional experience in the writing and editing industry. My education includes: MA in Creative Writing, Grad. Cert. in Instructional Design, BA in English, BAJ (Journalism), a Professional Editing Standards Certificate. I'm a member of Editor's Canada and CIEP (UK) and am familiar with common style guides (CMoS, CP, AP, APA, MLA). “(Shara) understands style sheets; excellent vocabulary, sense of idiom; catches nearly every subtle error – the ones that only the best candidates do. Shows both mechanical and literary editing ability.” I'm TOP RATED on Upwork. Let's connect! Find out more at shara dot caBook Editing

“One of the most talented writers I’ve ever seen.” As a ghostwriter, I receive your story idea at any stage of development and transform it into a completed work of art—to be authored under your name. I do the work. You reap the spoils. A published author with over a decade of professional experience, I’ve ghostwritten numerous books and screenplays for a diverse range of clients that include best-selling authors, screenwriters, actors, filmmakers, CEOs, and tech entrepreneurs. I’ve worked both as a freelancer and as a contractor for agencies in Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom, with a number of my authored titles being published through various presses and a number of scripts currently in production. The genres I write in are (mostly) comedy, drama, memoir, mystery, and science-fiction. However, I specialize in writing upmarket thrillers. What is an upmarket thriller? The ultimate genre, really. “Upmarket” is an industry term used to describe stories that contain elements of both commercial and literary fiction. Stories that take existing genre tropes and add to them deeper characterization, an elevated writing style, and penetrating questions about the human condition. A “thriller,” on the other hand, is a genre defined by its reliance on mystery, suspense, and an overall foreboding tone. Characters are duplicitous, expectations are subverted, and the line between good and evil is murky to non-existent. In other words, upmarket thrillers combine the best of both worlds. They use commercial tropes as the digestible framework with which to explore complex metaphysical themes. Simply put, whether a novel or screenplay, they are enigmatic stories well-told. Dark and exciting narratives that leave the audience with thought-provoking questions long after the final pages have been turned. And whether one of the many sub-genres—crime, action, legal, historical, spy, political—they are perhaps the most cinematic of all stories. No Country for Old Men, The Maltese Falcon, Gone Girl, The Silence of the Lambs, Casino Royale, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, A Clockwork Orange, The Talented Mr. Ripley—all are upmarket thrillers. Shows like True Detective, Breaking Bad, and Peaky Blinders would fit into the category as well. You can see now why I’ve made them my speciality. In terms of services, I offer the full gamut here on Upwork, from narrative consulting and editing existing works to creating whole stories from scratch. So whether you've a rough draft finished or merely a vague concept in your head, I’ll take your existing material and draft it into a compelling and professional narrative. Upmarket thriller or not. So are you ready to make your dream novel or screenplay a reality? Then reach out and let’s get started. I can’t wait to hear your story—and can’t wait for you to see it on the page!Book Editing
