Experienced attorney with a passion for non-profit and corporation strategy; I have helped secure over $500M in grant funding for my clients across the United States. After writing grant applications on my tour bus while touring the world as a guitarist for #1 Billboard hit artists like Tantric, I decided to jump in to law school and taking my passion for grant writing to the next level. While learning about the law, I worked as a Senior Research Associate for the New York State Innovation Law Center. As a Senior Research Associate, I would facilitate meetings with clients with innovative technologies looking to patent and/or commercialize their ideas. I would perform in depth intellectual property landscapes, develop market plans, analyze business models and commercialization strategies. I would also help train the Junior Associates to learn those skills. From there, I moved on to Aetna - a Fortune 500 Company. I supported both the Intellectual Property and Procurement legal groups. While at Aetna, I designed company policy. I also created workflow processes to create legal solutions for problems like legal content review, marketing campaign regulatory approvals, and more. I also helped to analyze MBAs, negotiate and draft different vendor agreements and RFPs. I'm ready to take all my experience and add it to your business or research project! Hello! I have experience in grant writing, program development, and research. As a board member, I have successfully contributed to fundraising strategies and helped to acquire federal grants, foundation grants, and local community grants. I have a Bachelor of Science in Health Education with a concentration in Public Health from Montclair State University. In addition, I have been trained by Rutgers University's Institute of Ethical Leadership, The Foundation Center/Candid, and the Center for Nonprofits. I have a particular interest in helping nonprofits develop proposals to attain funding for sustainable health programs, ending homelessness, education initiatives and the implementation of models that help to alleviate inequity in marginalized communities. I am social justice / public health-minded. ----- Please note, that securing grants is not guaranteed. The grant application process is typically competitive, with numerous factors influencing the outcome. These factors include the quality of your proposal, the alignment of your project with the grantor's priorities, and the number of applicants. Despite submitting a proposal, there is a possibility that it may not be selected for funding. Grant applications are evaluated based on various criteria, such as the quality of the proposal, the impact of the proposed project, and its alignment with the grantor's priorities and objectives. Even a strong proposal that meets all requirements may not be successful due to intense competition and limited funds available for awarding by the grantor. Grant applicants need to prepare for the possibility of not receiving a grant and to investigate alternative funding sources and strategies. Persistence and continuous improvement in proposal writing and program development can increase your chances of success over time. However, it is crucial to manage expectations and understand that securing grants can be a challenging and uncertain process.Grant WritingCopywritingProposal WritingCreative WritingSalesGrant Writing ConsultationEmail Campaign SetupBusiness DevelopmentLead GenerationRequest for ProposalResume WritingNonprofit OrganizationArts & CultureGrant Application - $35 hourly

Check me out on Linkedin for a more detailed summary of my work! (Search: Matthew Ruehlman) I'm all about a story. A favorite mentor of mine once said that she loved social media marketing because it "allowed her to become an expert" on new topics. As a digital strategist working across a diverse array of brands and nonprofits, I can't find this to be more true. I've spearheaded social campaigns that range from the scientific to the entrepreneurial, to the artistic, and beyond. Each project has given me a wealth of knowledge on a topic I probably would never have encountered if not for the project. And, as my clients will tell you, I've approached each project with a curiosity that is unmatched. If you are in the market for someone to lead digital strategy, with a battle-tested track record for raising website traffic and paving the way for conversions, I'm your guy. If you need someone to write informative, heavily researched, SEO-friendly articles for your e-commerce platform or nonprofit, I'm your guy. With many years in the entertainment industry as an Actor/Writer/Voice Artist, I bring a unique set of skills to a writing project. In my writing, I tell stories about all of us that uplift and celebrate the human spirit through its journey, success, angst, and challenges. As an actor, one enters the heart, mind, and spirit of another and shares it with the audience. Embracing another’s story, bringing it to life and colour, and telling it in their voice is very exciting for me. It is an enriching experience for all. Art is the essence of Life. My 1st screenplay, Welcome Home Kelly, culminated in a meeting with the Pres. of Universal Pictures and consideration for a co-production made off the lot. It was then submitted to Columbia Pictures and out of 1,000 submissions was one of seven selected for the Minority Writers Program at Columbia Pictures. In New York, ‘Kelly,’ was performed and produced as an Off-Broadway production. My 1st stage play, All About Sneakers, had 4 Off-Broadway productions, one for 100 homeless citizens. I am also writing a children’s book series, The Gemini Kiid, which was up for a children’s PBS TV program. In my work with the homeless, I took a NY team to Austria to participate in the “1st Homeless Streetsoccer World Cup,” and wrote a screenplay, Ew-Ess-Ah USA based on their journey. (The title refers to how the Austrians cheered for the USA.) I am also am the founder of a small, non-profit, volunteer organization, “The Chad Foundation for Athletes and Artists” that provides heart screenings to prevent Sudden Cardiac Death in Young Athletes and Artists. Having lost my son to SCD while playing football, I have written my 1st memoir, “CHAD, A Celebration of Life – Beyond A Mother’s Memories” which is now published and available online at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Shakespeare and Company. Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
