Senior Expert Access/Excel/VBA/SQL Server Developer/Dot.Net Web/MVC/EF/Azure, Troubleshooter, Optimizer, UI Enhancements, etc... I have 34+ years of experience working with Access, Excel, and then integrating them into harmonious fluid applications, whether it be for the Desktop, or on a WAN. I have developed using every version of Microsoft Office and SQL Server since inception. I specialize in Finance and Manufacturing, including CRM, Inventory and Work Order Management, Job Costing, AR, AP, Purchasing and Sales Forecast Automation, etc. I feel those environments are structurally synonymous with most any other scenario. My current experience involves Loan Origination and Servicing. Working in Finance and Manufacturing, I could not afford to make mistakes. My work ethic developed beginning with my father and being in the Military, in the field of Aviation, where a tiny mistake could cost lives. I am detail oriented with an eye for efficient user friendly complete, from the ground up, to the most custom application imaginable. I have proven complex methods that are far more efficient than the conventional developer, regardless of how well they score on a test; I am the person that goes the extra mile(s) to adhere to the rules of development while maintaining a fluid user friendly interface. I develop from the ground up or customize pre-existing systems. Whether I am developing in Access or Excel, I always structure the data for easy possible future migration, regardless of the interface. An interface can be easily replicated, but carelessly stored data can be very costly. My interfaces are fluid and user friendly. They utilize as much as the available functionality permits, by using Drop-down and List Boxes, and applying Event Code to link to related data without having to return to a menu or dashboard. I am extremely fluent in VBA, using various Object Models, i.e. Access, Excel, DAO, ADO, SQL, Class Modules, SQL Server T-SQL, Stored Procedures and Custom Functions and Triggers, SSMS, SSRS, and SSIS, etc. I write code that a lay person can understand. Where this is not possible, I comment the purpose and flow of the Code. I do not implement limitations, as a lot of developers do, that force the Client to always call on the developer every time a little change is needed. I develop in such a way that considers future expansion. The only time I would ever need to be called upon is to implement new functionality. I prefer to teach Clients the basics so that they can make the subtle physical design changes to the interface that they want, without destroying the integrity of the system. Because I follow the rules of development, the system is straight forward and easily understood. Core Skills, Software, and Framework are Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, VBA programming, SQL Server, Stored Procedures, Azure SQL Db, Aure Data Factory, M365, PowerAutomate, Dot Net Web Applications, Custom Business Application.

I help businesses replace spreadsheets, Microsoft Access databases, and manual workflows with user friendly software systems, built around how they actually operate. Most of the companies I work with have reached a point where their existing processes are no longer scaling efficiently: -spreadsheets becoming difficult to manage -disconnected tools and duplicated data -too much manual work -lack of visibility into operations -systems that have simply outgrown their original purpose That’s where I come in. I specialize in building operational business systems such as: • CRM / ERP / MRP systems • Inventory and order management systems • Job tracking and workforce systems • Quoting and estimating tools • Dashboards and reporting platforms • Automated workflows and integrations • Microsoft Access to Web App conversions My approach is different from most custom development because I build using a proven, custom framework and architecture refined across dozens of real-world business applications. This allows me to deliver: ✔ Faster development ✔ Lower overall project cost ✔ Reliable and scalable systems ✔ Clean, maintainable code ✔ Consistent workflows and user experience With this approach, you’re not paying to reinvent the wheel - you’re benefiting from systems and patterns that have already been proven in production environments. Before transitioning into software development full-time, I spent 8 years working in engineering and manufacturing in Canada. That experience gives me a strong understanding of operational workflows, process design, and the real-world business challenges behind the software. Today, I have: 🏆 Nearly 100 successfully completed projects on Upwork 🏆 100% Job Success Score maintained for over 8 years 🏆 Extensive experience with complex operational systems and custom workflows I’m also a strong believer in transparency and long-term reliability. -Clear and honest communication throughout projects -Fixed-price projects whenever possible -Strong internal QA/testing process -Lifetime bug-fix guarantee on fixed-rate builds If your current systems are slowing your business down, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to take a look and discuss possible solutions.

How to Hire Top Microsoft Access Freelancers

What is a Microsoft Access Freelancer?

Microsoft Access freelancers create database systems and custom data architectures using Microsoft’s database management platform. They install, set up, and maintain Access across servers and integrate it with other Microsoft software to provide a comprehensive business solution package that includes automation and overwrite protection.

How do you hire a Microsoft Access freelancer?

You can source Microsoft Access freelancer talent on Upwork by following these three steps:

  • Write a project description. You’ll want to determine your scope of work and the skills and requirements you are looking for in a Microsoft Access freelancer.
  • Post it on Upwork. Once you’ve written a project description, post it to Upwork. Simply follow the prompts to help you input the information you collected to scope out your project.
  • Shortlist and interview Microsoft Access freelancers. Once the proposals start coming in, create a shortlist of the professionals you want to interview.

Of these three steps, your project description is where you will determine your scope of work and the specific type of Microsoft Access freelancer you need to complete your project.

How much does it cost to hire a Microsoft Access freelancer?

Rates can vary due to many factors, including expertise and experience, location, and market conditions.

  • An experienced Microsoft Access freelancer may command higher fees but also work faster, have more-specialized areas of expertise, and deliver higher-quality work.
  • A contractor who is still in the process of building a client base may price their Microsoft Access freelancer services more competitively.

Rates typically charged by Microsoft Access freelancers on Upwork are:

  • Beginner: $24 per hour
  • Intermediate: $38 per hour
  • Advanced: $100 per hour

Which one is right for you will depend on the specifics of your project.

How do you write a Microsoft Access freelancer job post?

Your job post is your chance to describe your project scope, budget, and talent needs. Although you don’t need a full job description as you would when hiring an employee, aim to provide enough detail for a contractor to know if they’re the right fit for the project.

Job post title
