I'm an online content creator with 13+ years of experience, both in solo livestreaming and in managing live online productions with hundreds of individual participants. I have a strong passion for streaming and video games (both playing and developing) and am always looking for new ways to utilize my skills. For livestreaming, I have experience with using OBS, accessing RTMP servers, and managing virtual machines. I have been the lead organizer of an online speedrun marathon for the past 7+ years, leading a team of over 20 members and supervising hundreds of individuals from various online gaming communities. With experience in the organizing, livestreaming, and technical sides of live online production, I can handle almost any task thrown my way. For video game development, I have worked on small indie teams handling 2D and 3D level design, feature and bug testing, and even proofreading and copy editing. I have experience using SourceSDK, GameMaker, and a bit of Unity. I've contributed to the development of a shipped Steam game named Tinertia, and I am currently also helping multiple friends develop games for future releases. Doing feature testing and providing feedback is where I feel the most comfortable, but I've always dreamed of working on a larger dev team. I value professionalism and communication when working with others and am even capable of managing full teams if required. Please don't hesitate to drop me a line to discuss any jobs you may have!Game Testing

I’ve been a writer and storyteller my whole life. I started reading when I was 4 years old and never looked back. As a kid, I used to make my own comics. I wrote my first picture book, The Ginger Whale, in middle school. As a teenager, I had several poems and stories published. I started acting. At Wellesley College, I majored in both English and Theatre Arts, and completed several creative writing courses. While I worked at the LEGO Store, my storytelling and marketing towards kids was primarily verbal or visual, but I still had plenty of opportunities to be creative. In the following years, I mostly stuck to corporate writing: briefings and marketing messages for a congressional primary campaign; documentation, analysis, and internal communications for a national recruiting company. More recently, I've been doing technical writing, story writing, and game design for tabletop roleplaying game supplements. Since July 2020, I have been writing and editing scripts, stories, and cutscenes for Duolingo ABC, the award-winning educational app aimed at kids ages 3-8. This literacy app is illustrated and fully voiced. I have been involved in every step of the content creation process, including: developing new story formats, guidelines, and game narratives; casting and directing voice actors; and testing the app before release. I have a unique combination of literary, theatrical, and game dev experience that will help bring your next creative project to life! Published: “Forgiveness” (poem), Apple Pi Literary and Art Magazine, 2009 “Behind the ostrich: the loneliest caper” (poem), Fonts Literary Magazine, 2009 “The Dress in the Attic” (short story), Fonts Literary Magazine, 2010 “For Once, Being Gay Isn’t the Problem” (book review), The Lesbrary, 2010 Honors: “Fish Out of Water” (poem), honorable mention, Memorial Hall Library Poetry ContestGame Testing

My goal is to be hired as a game designer. My ideal career would involve designing games that utilize my knowledge and capacity for learning and pushes it to and beyond its limits. I'm Travis Land, and I'm a game systems designer. I achieved my Bachelor's Degree in game design from Indiana University in Bloomington in 2016. I've designed several games and am in pursuit of a challenge that will push me further toward becoming the designer I know I can be. I have an overwhelming need to reshape the future of society; my dreams include designing an entirely new transportation system to be more convenient and less fatal (also, who likes traffic?) and overhauling the US education system to fit each student's needs, rather than uniform testing, so that each child's potential can be reached. I'm also looking for work as a quality assurance tester or as a proofreader. Proofreading's not my passion, but it's something I'm excellent at!Game Testing

Open to fulltime and contract work. I graduated from the University of California, Irvine in June 2022 with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Game Science. In my free time creating personal games in Unity and learning Unreal Engine 5. I'm currently working at Unscrolled as a Game Designer and Developer. We are in the process of creating a Unity mobile game. My primary duties involve playtesting the game to identify areas where players could get stuck, and design ways to guide them through it. This has typically been accomplished utilizing level design changes, such as rearranging geometry to better indicate where a player can hide in a stealth section. I document bugs I find while playtesting on the team ClickUp, with detailed instructions to aid in fixing them at a later time. I then meet with other developers to convey these issues, as well as ideas on how to resolve them. As a Designer, I work with my team to create level design documents on Miro, to flesh out ideas presented by our Design Director. We use these to plan out future levels, brainstorm puzzles, and create wireframes for new UI menus. I also create user personas, allowing me to put myself in their shoes. This helps me predict how they might react or feel while playing our game, making it easier to add features designed to avoid confusion and frustration. As a Developer, I use the design documents to implement and prototype new features in engine. Based on user feedback, I fix bugs, and adjust the code and physics to meet the needs of stakeholders and create a polished experience. Handling the game’s logic is one of my main responsibilities. I created scripts that track the player’s progress through a level, trigger different events, and control the player’s current state. I also implemented a new camera system for the player. This camera system is smoother, and ensures the player is always centered and visible even when obstructions occur. In daily Scrum meetings, I meet with other developers to report my progress on tasks, and work together to get past roadblocks. I’m currently working part time at The Coder School, where we teach kids how to code using a personalized curriculum. We work in 1-on-1 and 2-on-1 sessions to help kids learn at their own pace. I was also the lead designer and a programmer on Patient Zero, a VR game created with Unity, in association with the Biology department at the University of California Irvine. My favorite games include almost anything from Nintendo, especially Mario and Kirby games. I also enjoy games that give a lot of personality to their characters, such as Undertale, Plants Vs. Zombies, Cuphead, or Team Fortress 2. As far as multiplayer games go, I enjoy Super Smash Bros, and team shooters like Splatoon, Rainbow Six Siege, or Valorant.Game Testing

You can't get good at a skill unless you practice often. Reading is one of my most enjoyable pastimes, and therefore one of my most practiced skills. This created a passion for writing and editing my own works and those of others. Let me help refine and elevate your writing! I am familiar with many online writing programs. Let me help you get your book closer to getting published! Beta reading and proofreading are two of the roles I am most eager to fill, especially those of new authors' works. Genres that are particularly interesting to me include both fiction and non-fiction. Fantasy, Mystery, History, Adventure, Education, and Sci-Fi are the genres I read most frequently in my pastime. My experience in editing, proofreading, and Alpha/Beta reading of written works has consisted mostly of Sci-Fi and Fantasy thus far. This experience comes through helping close friends work on their original writings. If this skill interests you, I would be delighted to work with you. Organization is one of my specialties, I take great pride in my attention to detail. Do you need something reformatted and organized well? I can do that for you. I take great pride in my work ethic and quality of work. I am looking for clients who appreciate the time I take to ensure you are satisfied and that the work meets my standards of excellence.
