I am currently investigating a software project in the robotics space with a focus on vision for autonomous navigation (i.e. SLAM). Experience working with camera input and algorithms for processing video is strongly preferred, as is any robotics experience in SLAM. I require an engineer to work with me to evaluate several different options, looking into the latest research and best techniques, to piece together a solution for our project. This is a well put together guide on building a syringe pump, using standard parts: syringes, arduino, stepper motors etc. http://www.instructables.com/id/3D-Printed-Syringe-Pump-Rack/#step1 The design for it is in google sketchup and parts list on that page. It has 0.5ul resolution on a 5ml syringe. I need the design modified to support 150ml of fluid to be processed and resolution of .001 to .04ml. I think this could be done with a much finer pitch threaded rod and or servo with more steps, but I don't know much about what stepper motors. Ideally only one motor as I this is to be used with a special filter. One possible design would be to have a giant syringe for the processed water driven by say a .5 to 1ml step, and a tiny one to run the processing at the super low flow. Looking for someone to take the existing design, modify and ideally build it or at least come up with a complete parts list that I can easily have someone purchase.

The scope of this project is to develop an image processing system for a pipe welding robot. The robot control system will rely on feedback from the image processing algorithms to determine the location of the welding electrode in relation to the weld seam edges to correct positional errors.
