Amy Hagan created Hagan Consulting, LLC as a logical application of her twenty-five years of experience in Human Resources Management and Organizational Development. Amy has extensive experience with start-ups, Fortunue 100 companies, and governmental agencies. She also has extensive union experience and she has negotiated over 100 labor contracts.
Hagan’s career extends back to the U.S. Department of Defense in 2000, where she served as a Human Resources Specialist—the first step in the development of a growing career that reflects a skill-set built upon solid experience.
In the corporate sector, Hagan served as Human Resources Manager of The SYGMA Network, a food service transportation company with over one thousand employees. Her responsibilities extended from federal and state safety compliance to Profit and Loss generation, labor contracts and relations, implementation of the ADP payroll system, and recruitment.
As Human Resources and Risk Management Director for the Inland Empire Utilities Agency, Hagan managed employee recruitment, training, and skills development, worked directly with the Board of Directors, and maintained all aspects of employee relations, including labor relations, worker’s compensation, and risk management.
At PepsiCo, the global food and beverage company, Hagan was rapidly promoted from HR Manager to Organizational Development Manager for the Quaker Division, offering HR services in a multi-mission facility. Performance management responsibilities including development and improvement of the review process, and an improved recruitment process that reduced fill time by 35%, and knowledge of Labor contracts and employee handbook for appropriate steps in discipline.
Hagan provided services to Marine Corps Community Services as Director of Organizational Management, Training, and Development. In this multi-mission facility with over two thousand employees, Hagan offered comprehensive services, including human capital management— business analysis, training and development interventions, executive coaching, and team building. Hagan’s OMD interventions used Six Sigma in several business units and netted the organization a net savings of nearly $1.7 million.
Hagan was Director of Human Resources and Risk Management for the City of Redlands, California, reporting directly to the City Manager and acting as the City’s senior HR leader. She guided recruitment, benefits, ADA compliance and provided HR guidance for Senior Executives and Department Directors, presented recommendations to the City Council on HR and Risk Management issues, and managed all Union contracts.
As Director of Human Resources and Organizational Development for the Southern Nevada Health District, Hagan reported directly to the Chief Medical Officer, performing HR, OD and Risk Management responsibilities, Health Care, Union and Government relations, and Federally Qualified Health Center development.
Since 2012 Hagan has served as Professor at Southern New Hampshire University, teaching Compensation Management, Labor Relations, and Human Resources Management. She is also an adjunct professor at Franklin University.
Amy Hagan holds a Doctorate in Organizational Development from Northcentral University, an MBA from Upper Iowa University, and a Bachelors degree in Management with a minor in Human Resources.
