I fly helicopters, work as an electrical engineer, and have years of military experience behind me. But the work I genuinely enjoy is something quieter: taking technical documents in English and turning them into Turkish that actually makes sense to the person reading it. Aviation manuals, engineering specs, software interfaces — the format changes, but the goal stays the same. Translate the meaning, not just the words.
My hands-on background with Turkish technical content goes back to my university years at Selçuk (2012–2016). I worked through summers and semester breaks selling test and measurement equipment, demonstrating it to customers, and training users on how to operate it. A big part of that job was reworking the English user manuals into Turkish that a technician could actually follow, then teaching from those translated guides. If the translation didn't work in practice, I'd hear about it from the trainees the same day. That's where I learned the difference between technically correct Turkish and Turkish that actually communicates.
Alongside that, I was building things on my own — microcontroller projects, PCB designs from scratch. Real hardware, not coursework. Electronics teaches you to respect small details quickly, because one wrong trace or one cold solder joint and the whole board is dead. After graduation I spent about a year on weak current systems: security, fire alarms, data networks, technical drawing, schematic work. Roughly five years of solid technical groundwork before I moved into aviation full-time.
The project I'm most proud of is the full Turkish localization of the AirNavigation Pro app. Every button, error message, and menu item — translated so it reads as if the app had been built in Turkish from the start. That's the standard I try to hold across everything I work on, whether it's a flight manual, an engineering document, or a piece of software.
A few words about how I work: I grew up with Turkish and have been using English professionally for years, so shifting between formal technical register and natural conversational tone is second nature. I've also tended to land near the top in most things I've taken seriously — pilot school, engineering, officer training, commando courses. I mention it not to brag, but because that kind of discipline shows up in the work itself. I don't deliver half-finished things.
